Job summary

Brotomotive Autoz in Gandhinagar is seeking a capable Bodyshop Manager to oversee all operations, from vehicle reception to final delivery. You will lead denting, painting, detailing, and technician teams, manage insurance claim processes, and ensure timely, high-quality repairs while optimizing costs and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in an automobile bodyshop.
• Experience as Bodyshop Manager / Bodyshop In-charge / Workshop Manager preferred.
• Experience in multi-brand, authorised dealership, accident repair centre, or insurance-linked bodyshop preferred.
• Strong experience in managing denting and painting teams.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Bodyshop Operations

• Manage day-to-day operations of the complete bodyshop.
• Plan and control vehicle flow from vehicle reception to final delivery.
• Ensure timely completion of denting, painting, repair, detailing, and related jobs.
• Monitor WIP and ensure minimum turnaround time (TAT).
• Maintain productivity and workshop capacity as per business requirements.

2. Team & Manpower Management

• Lead and supervise denting, painting, detailing, technicians, helpers, and support staff.
• Allocate jobs according to employee skill and workload.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
• Identify training and skill-development requirements.
• Maintain proper manpower utilization.

3. Insurance & Accident Repair

• Handle insurance-related bodyshop operations and coordinate with surveyors and insurance companies.
• Ensure timely survey, approvals, documentation, and claim processing.
• Review estimates and ensure proper repair authorization before starting work.
• Follow up on pending insurance approvals and parts.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure proper repair quality according to company standards.
• Inspect vehicles at different stages of repair.
• Ensure proper denting, painting, colour matching, finishing, and detailing.
• Conduct final quality inspection before vehicle delivery.
• Reduce rework, customer complaints, and repeat repairs.

5. Customer Management

• Handle escalated customer complaints and accident-repair concerns.
• Ensure customers receive regular updates regarding repair progress.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction and professional service standards.
• Ensure vehicles are delivered as per committed timelines.

6. Cost & Revenue Control

• Monitor bodyshop revenue, job profitability, productivity, and operating costs.
• Control material wastage, paint consumption, rework, and unnecessary expenses.
• Monitor estimates versus actual repair costs.
• Support management in achieving monthly revenue and profitability targets.

7. MIS & Reporting

Prepare and review daily/weekly/monthly reports covering:

• Vehicle Inflow & Outflow
• Work in Progress (WIP)
• Vehicle TAT
• Insurance Claims
• Pending Approvals
• Revenue & Billing
• Technician Productivity
• Rework / Quality Issues
• Customer Complaints
• Manpower Utilization

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of automobile bodyshop operations.
• Excellent knowledge of denting, painting, accident repair, and vehicle restoration.
• Good understanding of motor insurance claims and surveyor coordination.
• Strong leadership and manpower-management skills.
• Good customer-handling and communication skills.
• Strong planning, follow-up, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of workshop MIS, productivity, TAT, and profitability.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and computer systems.

Qualification

Diploma / Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 510 years of relevant experience in an automobile bodyshop.
• Candidates with experience as Bodyshop Manager / Bodyshop In-charge / Workshop Manager will be preferred.
• Experience in multi-brand, authorised dealership, accident repair centre, or insurance-linked bodyshop preferred.
• Strong experience in managing denting and painting teams.
• Candidates from Gandhinagar / Ahmedabad or nearby locations preferred.
