Job summary

Envision Energy, a leader in green technology, seeks a Blade Structural Integration Engineer to drive RCA investigations and model-based analyses for wind turbine blades. You will develop corrective actions, coordinate with field teams, and implement design improvements to enhance reliability and performance across global projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in composite structural engineering, strong ANSYS/MATLAB/Python skills, and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

  • Master's/PhD in engineering with focus on composite structures or manufacturing.
  • 5+ years in reliability engineering for composite structures (design, RCA, corrective actions).
  • Experience with CAE software for composite structures and FE methods.
  • Strong knowledge of 8D approach and field issue RCA processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead RCA investigations for blade structure damage and failures in the field.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions with verification plans.
  • Coordinate with field operations to ensure proper execution of actions.
  • Collaborate with design/engineering to implement preventive actions.
  • Develop analytical/FE models to support RCA and action plans.
  • Deliver RCA reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve blade repair specifications and processes.
  • Travel internationally to wind farms and headquarters as needed.

  • Master's in aerospace or mechanical engineering with focus on composite structures
  • 5+ years of experience as a structure engineer of wind turbine blades or similar composite structures - modeling / manufacturing / root cause analyses for damages/failures
  • Strong familiarity with wind turbine blade manufacturing and NCR dispositions (a) Support dispositioning the factory NCRs, improve processes, quality and production efficiency (b) Lead RCAs of field issues and provide smart corrective and preventive actions for the operating fleet
Primary Responsibilities:
Fleet Support:
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for blade structure damage and failures in the field
  • Develop and implement solutions for corrective and preventive actions, including verification plans
  • Coordinate with field operations teams to ensure proper execution of corrective actions
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams for effective implementation of preventive actions
  • Develop detailed analytical models and Finite Element (FE) models to support RCA and action plans
  • Deliver RCA reports promptly to key internal stakeholders and external customers/third parties
  • Maintain and enhance blade standard repair specifications by introducing efficient repair solutions
  • Propose new technology ideas for field repairs and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections
  • Travel to wind farms (international) to address critical blade issues as needed
  • Travel to headquarters (China) to ensure alignment and coordination on key field cases
Manufacturing Support:
  • Disposition NCRs with repair proposals meeting the design requirements
  • Ensure the production quality requirements are being met as per the structure design requirements
  • Support production efficiency and quality improvement projects from structure point of view
  • Understand and ensure proper implementation of Acceptance Criteria
  • Lead structure support for prototyping of new blades and introduction of existing products into new factories
  • Lead structure support for certification manufacturing evaluation
  • Closely work with the Global Teams for carrying lessons from other markets to India market
Requirements:
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Engineering, with a focus on Composite Structural Design or Manufacturing (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil)
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering for composite structures (design, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive solutions)
  • Experience with CAE software (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical) for composite structures
  • Strong knowledge of composite structure mechanics, damage models, and analysis methods
  • Strong knowledge of 8D approach for solving operational issues in blades
  • Proficiency in programming languages like MATLAB, Python, or similar
  • Experience in engineering documentation and technical communication with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in Finite Element Methods, including beam, shell, and solid mechanics
  • Experience in reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
  • Willingness to travel internationally (at least 15%), primarily to China, with potential travel to India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Strong team player, capable of collaborating with global teams
