Job Description

The Biofuels Market Analyst will join ICF's Technical Advisory team and support clients across the low-carbon and renewable transportation fuels sector. The role focuses primarily on North American markets, including the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) and Canada Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR), while also monitoring global policies and market developments. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining economic forecast models, researching biofuel market segments, analysing regulatory developments, preparing market reports and collaborating with ICF teams and clients. Relevant areas include renewable natural gas, renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen and related feedstock markets. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Environmental Policy, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant energy industry experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ year of industry or internship experience. Programming experience in Python, Stata, Matlab or VBA is required or expected to be learned. Advanced degrees, biofuel or low-carbon fuel experience, consulting experience and strong modelling skills are preferred.
