Overview

ICF is seeking a talented consultant to support our growing team and client base in the area of power markets advisory consulting. Professionals with 5‑7 years of experience in US power market analysis, forecasting, and economics are ideal candidates for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated team of analysts to perform detailed energy market modelling and long‑term forecasting for market prices, plant/grid operations, and plant economics.
• Manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines while ensuring excellent quality, consistency, and client support.
• Review and provide direct feedback to the team on quantitative modelling approaches and results.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse client base as a subject‑matter expert in U.S. wholesale power markets.
• Grow ICF’s business by leading interactions with potential clients and developing proposals.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and collaborate with ICF senior management on key business decisions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative‑focused field. Candidates majoring in other fields must clearly demonstrate equivalent quantitative aptitude.
• 5+ years of work experience in the North American electric power sector, including market analysis, power‑flow studies, and forecasting.
• Experience with at least one of the following: ERCOT, PJM, ISO‑NE, NYISO, MISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, and SERC.
• Deep familiarity with market‑modelling approaches and tools such as PROMOD, PSLF, and others.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office.
• Experience independently conducting and supervising technical analysis.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Consulting background preferred; other experience with financial analysis, asset valuation, or power plant development is a plus.
• Business development and managerial experience.
