Job summary

National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) in Karnataka, India, is seeking an experienced Application Tester/QA Analyst with biometrics domain expertise. The role demands hands-on testing across web/mobile apps, strong STLC understanding, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will design test scenarios, execute tests in Agile/Waterfall environments, and contribute to automation within CI/CD pipelines. Relevant certifications are preferred. This is a full-time role based in India.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Run regular testing of applications from ecosystem partners and internal biometrics projects.
• Analyze requirements to create test scenarios and test cases.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects.
• Perform regression, smoke, sanity, and UAT support testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts when applicable.
• Execute automation test suites and analyze results.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Consolidate reports and analyses based on the challenge scope.
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and business teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Experience

Technical & Analytics Skills

• Proficient in Java, Python, Selenium, API testing (postman) or similar technology
• Skilled in designing, executing and managing test strategies within Agile and waterfall models
• CI/CD tools and practices
• Strong understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC)and defect management
• Experience testing web and/or mobile applications
• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Preferred Certifications / Training:

• Certified Biometrics Professional (CBP)
• ISO/IEC 30107 (Presentation Attack Detection) Training

Key responsibilities:

Functional & Manual Testing

1. Running of regular testing of application received from ecosystem partner and internal applications related to biometrics

2. Analyse business and technical requirements to create test scenarios and test cases.
