Job summary

WSP India in Bengaluru seeks an ambitious BIM Modeller to join the Integrated Complementary Resource Centre GCC AU India BIM team. You will work with AU Rail disciplines, developing and delivering projects from feasibility to detailed design and construction.

You will use tools such as Open Building Designer, Tekla, Robot, AutoCAD and Civil 3D to deliver practical, cost-efficient civil and structural designs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across several ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil with BIM software experience.
• 5–10 years relevant work experience in Bentley/Autodesk BIM software.
• Excellent working knowledge of MicroStation, AECOsim/OpenBuilding Designer and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D structural models using BIM software.
• Interpret plans to develop integrated structural models.
• Generate 2D drawings, details and schedules from 3D models for construction docs.
• Perform clash detection and resolve spatial conflicts between structural, architectural and MEP components.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D structural models using BIM software (3D MicroStation, AECOsim / Open Building Designer, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, iTwin)
• Interpret architectural and engineering plans to develop integrated structural models.
• Generate and extract 2D drawings, details, and schedules from 3D models for construction documentation.
• Perform clash detection and resolve spatial conflicts between structural, architectural, and MEP components.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure model accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Update and modify models as per revised plans, specifications, or redline markups.
• Maintain project BIM libraries, templates, and families.
• You will be working and supporting a range of infrastructure schemes to independently develop engineering BIM models and drawings under the relevant standards.
• You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and be active on several projects at any given time.
• You will be contributing to all types of projects.
• You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety, including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual
• You will take responsibility for your own personal development with the support of the line manager and follow an agreed development plan.
• You will assist in the development of others in the team.

Key Competencies / Skills

• Ability to utilise 3D MicroStation, AECOsim / OpenBuilding, ProjectWise, AutoCAD in adherence to defined CAD & BIM standards to develop 3D modelling, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
• Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers basic sketches to full working drawings.
• Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.
• Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
• Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of proper CAD & BIM standards and procedures.
• Undertake reviews of work produced by others to ensure high quality of CAD output.
• AU / any International Rail project experience and working knowledge of International design standards.
• You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as ISO 19650, Uniclass 2015 etc.,
• You should be able to understand and communicate BIM and CAD standards for use on Rail engineering projects and possess an appropriate overall level of knowledge of the AU/ International infrastructure design sector.
• Proficient in the use of standard office software.
• Experience in supervising and coordinating the CAD output of others within a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Commitment to work as part of a design team focused on project delivery.
• Good understanding and knowledge of Multi-Discipline Rail Projects
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least one key area such as a Diploma/Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering, with 5-10 years relevant work experience in Bentley/Autodesk BIM Software.
• Excellent working knowledge of Civil Core knowledge of MicroStation/AECOsim / OpenBuilding Designer.
• Good working knowledge of the relevant Metro Rail discipline.
