About the Role

Responsibilities

• Drafting, and 3D modelling of mine infrastructure for the mechanical discipline group which involves:


• Design/drafting of equipment and plant layouts


• 3D modeling of process piping


• Piping layouts and isometrics


• P&IDs and Process flow diagrams


• Ensuring models and drawings are in accordance with applicable standards


• Visiting client facilities at mine sites as required to validate designs


• Assist with performing conceptual, feasibility and detailed mechanical design work including equipment, and plant layouts


• Interacting with clients and being responsible for the quality of project deliverables


• Coordinating with other disciplines and other WSP groups


• Participating in WSP’s Health & Safety program


• Assisting with other project work as required

Qualifications

• College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design or higher


• Around 5 years of experience in a relevant field


• Experience with mining operations would be an asset


• Ability to complete field and office work as necessary, which may involve work outside of normal business hours


• Primary drafting software in use is AutoCAD and Plant3D and some knowledge with that software is required; proficiency with these other software packages will be considered an asset:


• Microsoft Office

• Revit


• Civil3D


• Demonstrates a 'Safety First' focus attitude and traits in line with WSP’s core values
