Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Piping Engineer to support GCC team, with 8–12 years in mechanical piping. You will design cross-country/inplant piping, develop isometrics and 3D models, and draft PFDs/BFDs and specifications.

Strong CAD skills and ability to work with global teams are essential. You will collaborate on power, desalination and water projects, review calculations and ensure technical excellence across design and construction activities.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical with 8–12 years of piping experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Plant3D for piping design and modelling.
• Experience on cross-country/inplant power, desalination and water projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to pre-contract and project delivery teams on piping design and operation.
• Detail design of cross-country piping and prepare piping specifications and datasheets.
• Create PFDs, BFDs, PIDs and develop 3D pipe models with vendor drawings.
• Review piping design calculations, drawings and method statements for site activities.
• Develop overall piping plans, isometrics, plot plans and site survey data.
• Ensure CAD standards compliance and work within multi-location teams.

Job description

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Piping Engineer to support our GCC team.

Responsibilities

• Technical support to the Pre-Contract and Project Delivery teams on matters concerning the design, construction and operation of cross-country/inplant power, desalination and sewage treatment plants and associated equipment.
• Detail design of cross-country piping in power and water projects and use of the associated pipe modelling and analysis software packages.
• Preparation of basic and detail piping technical specifications, datasheets and pipe layout drawings.
• Create and Draft PFDs, BFDs, PIDs, work on equipment and piping 3D model development
• Develop detail design drawings incorporating vendor 2D and 3D drawings for gas plant projects
• Develop overall piping plans, general layouts, isometrics, plot plans, and other project specific details. Including the application Site Topographical Survey drawings and data
• Review of piping design and sizing calculations and drawings
• Review of method statement/ test procedures submitted by contractors for cross-country/inplant power, desalination and sewage treatment plants site activities related to piping work.
• Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of CAD standards in line with WSP procedures.
• The role will require working alone and as part of a large cross disciplinary team across office locations so the successful candidate should be self-motivated and a strong communicator who works well with others.
• Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required
• Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
