Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Acoustics (UK accredited)
• Eligibility for UK Institute of Acoustics membership at an appropriate level
• Ten+ years of acoustics experience at senior consultancy level
• Experience with noise modelling and acoustic assessments per standards and guidance
• Experience reviewing deliverables within budgets and timescales
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Desire to mentor staff

Job description

WSP is seeking a Principal Consultant with expertise in Acoustics to join our growing team in India and work with our UK Acoustics team. The candidate will operate within a team of environmental professionals in Noida or Bengaluru, delivering high‑standard technical work and supporting the continued success of the acoustics team through client‑focused project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to UK project managers and directors, including project proposals, costings, and coordination of acoustic team members in India.
• Manage projects or associated tasks and undertake desk‑based complex specialist work on a wide range of schemes.
• Mentor and line‑manage junior colleagues in the India team to support their career development.

Key Competencies & Skills

• Relevant advanced degree or equivalent qualification in Acoustics, accredited in the UK.
• Eligibility for membership of the UK Institute of Acoustics at an appropriate level.
• Ten or more years of acoustics experience at a senior consultancy level.
• Strong experience in noise modelling and acoustic assessments using British Standards and guidance documents.
• Experience reviewing deliverables, working to agreed timescales, within budget and to expected quality.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to mentor and develop staff.
• Proficiency with GIS/Mapping, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Cadna, Odeon, Revit, Rhino or Sketch‑up is desirable.
