Role & responsibilities -
1. BIM Modelling & Design Development
- Develop detailed MEP / Structural BIM Models using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD as per project requirements.
- Develop BIM models up to LOD 500, wherever required by project/client requirements.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, BOQs, specifications, design inputs, and project requirements.
- Convert 2D design information into accurate and coordinated 3D BIM models.
- Create, modify, and maintain Revit Families as per project standards and modelling requirements.
- Prepare and update GA Drawings, Shop Drawings, Fabrication/Execution Drawings, and other 2D deliverables.
- Ensure BIM models accurately represent approved design intent and actual project requirements.
- Maintain modelling accuracy, consistency, and required level of development throughout the project lifecycle.
2. BIM Coordination & Clash Management
- Identify, analyse, and resolve clashes/interferences between Architectural, Structural, MEP, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and other services.
- Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and other relevant BIM coordination tools.
- Review clash reports and coordinate with concerned teams for timely resolution.
- Coordinate with Design Consultants, Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Internal Design/Execution Teams.
- Identify design gaps, constructability issues, and coordination requirements before they affect site execution.
- Maintain coordination models and incorporate approved design changes.
- Track coordination issues and ensure timely closure of identified clashes.
3. Site Support & BIM-to-Site Coordination
- Conduct weekly site visits, or as required, to monitor BIM-to-site execution.
- Compare BIM models and drawings with actual site conditions.
- Support Site Engineers and execution teams in resolving BIM-related technical and execution issues.
- Provide technical clarification related to drawings, models, dimensions, routing, coordination, and installation.
- Understand site constraints and construction sequencing and incorporate relevant information into BIM models.
- Identify deviations between approved BIM models and actual site execution.
- Ensure necessary model and drawing updates are incorporated based on approved site changes.
4. Shop Drawings & Technical Documentation
- Prepare, modify, and maintain Shop Drawings, GA Drawings, BIM Models, Revit Families, and technical documentation.
- Generate required schedules, quantities, material information, and reports from BIM models.
- Ensure drawings contain accurate dimensions, levels, sections, details, annotations, and technical information.
- Maintain proper revision control for drawings and BIM models.
- Ensure only approved/latest drawings and models are released for project execution.
- Maintain organized BIM documentation as per project and ISO requirements.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with approved standards, applicable codes, specifications, and client requirements.
5. Project Coordination & Internal Communication
- Coordinate with Design Head, Project Manager, Site Engineers, Project Coordinators, Consultants, and Execution Teams.
- Understand project priorities and complete BIM deliverables within agreed timelines.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and provide technical inputs wherever required.
- Communicate design changes, coordination issues, and technical requirements to concerned teams.
- Maintain proper records of pending BIM activities, design changes, clashes, and coordination points.
- Escalate critical technical or coordination issues to the Design Head / Project Manager.
- Ensure smooth coordination between BIM, Design, and Site Execution teams.
6. BIM Model Quality Control
- Conduct regular quality checks of BIM models and drawings before submission/release.
- Ensure models are free from major modelling errors, duplication, incorrect elements, and coordination issues.
- Check model accuracy against approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
- Follow defined BIM modelling standards, naming conventions, templates, worksets, parameters, and documentation procedures.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across different project models and deliverables.
- Support implementation and improvement of BIM quality-control processes.
7. Project Progress & BIM Deliverable Monitoring
- Prepare and maintain a BIM deliverable tracker for assigned projects.
- Monitor planned vs. actual completion of modelling, coordination, drawings, and revisions.
- Ensure BIM deliverables are completed as per project milestones.
- Track pending inputs, drawings, approvals, design changes, and coordination requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Design Head / Project Manager regarding BIM progress.
- Identify potential delays in BIM deliverables and take proactive corrective action.
8. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare regular BIM progress reports and status updates.
- Maintain project-wise records covering:
- BIM Model Status
- Drawing Status
- Clash StatusRevit Family Status
- Design Changes
- Pending Inputs
- Coordination Issues
- Site Queries
- Revision Status
- Project Deliverables
- Provide accurate and timely information to management for project decision-making.
- Maintain proper documentation of completed and pending BIM activities.
9. BIM Standards & Process Improvement
- Follow company-defined BIM standards, workflows, modelling guidelines, and documentation procedures.
- Maintain data security and confidentiality of company and client project information.
- Support the development and standardization of Revit Families, templates, libraries, and BIM workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve modelling efficiency, coordination accuracy, and project delivery.
- Stay updated with new BIM tools, technologies, standards, and industry best practices.
- Support the team in implementing improved BIM processes and working methodologies.
Preferred candidate profile -
- 34 years of relevant experience in BIM Modelling, BIM Coordination, MEP Design, Structural BIM, Engineering Design, or Project-Based Engineering Organizations.
- Strong hands-on experience in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Experience in developing BIM models up to LOD 500 will be preferred.
- Experience in MEP / HVAC / Plumbing / Fire Protection / Structural / Engineering projects.
- Experience in Clash Detection, BIM Coordination, Shop Floor Drawings, GA Drawings, and Revit Family Creation.
- Candidates having experience in Pipe Supports, MEP Support Systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Engineering Products, or similar industrial projects will be preferred.
- Exposure to site execution and BIM-to-site coordination will be an added advantage.
