Job summary

COWI is seeking a BIM Consultant/Specialist in Chennai to support digital delivery with high-quality BIM solutions across buildings & industry projects. You will report to the Head of Discipline, Building & Industry, Structures India and work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver well-coordinated BIM models and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 6–15 years' experience in multidisciplinary projects.
• Advanced Modeling/Family Creation/Drawings (Plans, Sections, Elevations, Details) in Revit.
• Experience in Navisworks and BIM 360 for coordination and clash detection.
• Experience as a Discipline BIM Lead or Coordinator on Buildings, Industrial or Infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience in reinforced/precast concrete and structural steel.
• 3D rebar modeling and 3D steel connections modeling experience.
• Experience with BIM Execution Plans, BIM protocols and discipline standards.
• Strong communication, planning and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM information across disciplines and resolve modelling issues.
• Manage BIM models and project data throughout delivery.
• Work with BIM Leads/Coordinators, engineers to deliver well-coordinated models.

To support our digital delivery across the business by providing high-quality BIM solutions, we are seeking experienced BIM professionals to join our Buildings & Industry team in India. With over 130+ professionals in India together with our global team of experts we work alongside our customers on world’s most prestigious building and industrial projects. We have contributed to notable large-scale projects like Copenhagen Airport - Terminal 3 Airside Extension, New Bispebjerg hospital, Hofor water distribution utilities, LEGO Manufacturing Facilities, to name a few, highlighting our expertise in buildings and addressing the growing demands of our international business.

As a BIM Consultant/ Specialist, you will report to the Head of Discipline, Building & Industry, Structures India

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

• Deliver discipline BIM models and drawings in compliance with BIM Execution Plan and standards e.g. discipline template, object library and sheets
• Coordinate BIM information across disciplines and resolve technical modelling and coordination issues
• Manage BIM models and project data throughout delivery
• Work with Overall & Discipline BIM Leads/Coordinators, other BIM team members, Discipline Leads, Structural Engineers, to deliver well-coordinated models and drawings
• Apply and promote BIM standards, Automation Solutions, QA practices and efficient workflows and promote continuous improvements
• Use engineering experience and understanding to apply technical and practical skills in a BIM environment
• Mentor/lead BIM team members and support their technical development.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 6–15 years' experience in multidisciplinary projects.
• Advanced Modeling/Family Creation/Drawings (Plans, Sections, Elevations, Details) experience in Autodesk Revit from LOD 100 to 350
• Experience in Navisworks and ACC/BIM 360 environment in Coordination & Clash detection, Issue Management would be highly valuable
• Experience as a Discipline BIM Lead or Coordinator on Buildings, Industrial or Infrastructure projects; Data Centre, Water Projects experience would be highly valuable
• Extensive experience in Reinforced Concrete, Precast Concrete, Structural Steel preferably in Scandinavian and UK Projects
• 3D rebar modelling, reinforcement drawings and Bar Bending Schedules & 3D Steel Connections modeling experience would be highly valuable
• Experience with BIM Execution Plans, BIM protocols and discipline standards
• Effective communication, planning, and coaching skills, with an emphasis on quality compliance
• Good to have skills: AutoCAD, Solibri, Naviate Plugin for 3D Rebar and Scripting tools like Dynamo, Python, C#.
