Job summary

FIS is seeking a BillingPlatform Systems Analyst to analyze requirements and configure BillingPlatform, with development tasks across web and database layers. The role emphasizes iterative, incremental delivery and close collaboration with business analysts and clients.

The candidate should have strong API, BPQL, and data modeling skills, and be capable of implementing complex workflows using SOAP/REST while maintaining system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with BillingPlatform Billing and/or BillingPlatform Revenue Recognition.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Experience with other billing solutions or ERPs is beneficial.
• Proficiency with API based development and database queries.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and business processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to configure BillingPlatform and determine customizations.
• Create technical designs for identified customizations and perform cost/benefit analyses.
• Build application pages, queries, programs and reports to support business needs.
• Develop modules per technical design and plan conversions and implementations.
• Ensure performance and coordinate with architects to resolve issues.
• Write test plans and execute tests for changes across systems and interfaces.
• Install and release BillingPlatform enhancements and verify migration success.
• Collaborate with analysts to translate requirements into configuration and design.
• Identify optimal technical approaches to solve business problems.

About The Role

Analyze user requirements to determine BillingPlatform application configuration and/or customization. The BillingPlatform Systems Analyst is a software development role. Depending upon which features of the application are required, the developer may be required to execute basic software development tasks up to advanced web and database development skills.

What You Will Be Doing

• Analyzes user requirements to determine BillingPlatform application configuration and/or customization, evaluates business need for system customizations, conducts appropriate cost/benefit analysis and produces technical designs for identified customizations
• Analyzes systems specifications and uses the latest analysis tools to represent business/technical processes in a system solution
• Builds application pages, queries, programs and reports to support business needs
• Codes individual modules and functions as identified through technical design, develops conversion and implementation plans and ensures successful implementation of BillingPlatform application changes, monitoring changes for increased efficiency
• Takes proactive measures to ensure optimal application and system performance and works with the BillingPlatform Architect to address any performance issues
• Writes and executes thorough technical and functional test plans to ensure BillingPlatform application changes are working properly including the use of batch scripts, online processes, databases or interface files
• Installs new application solutions, changes or enhancements made to BillingPlatform using release management tools and/or processes
• Ensures migrated changes are properly implemented and available to users
• Coordinates with Business analysts and/or other internal professionals to define detailed requirements, analyze business needs and validate solutions with clients and translate into configuration and/or customization technical design
• Through research and knowledge of BillingPlatform best practices, determines most effective technical approach to define and resolve identified problem(s) with minimal assistance and minimal client impact

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of experience with BillingPlatform Billing and/or BillingPlatform Revenue Recognition is required, with completion of available BillingPlatform Technical Certifications
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience is required
• Experience with other industry-leading billing solutions, CRM applications or ERPs is beneficial (i.e., Zuora, Aria, Salesforce, Oracle, etc.)
• Knowledge of the financial services industry is beneficial
• Requires experience in full life cycle development with an emphasis on incremental, iterative development and deployment
• Requires proficiency in logical data modeling and business process modeling
• Demonstrates proficiency with API based development including the ability to construct, test, debug, and optimize complex workflows implemented utilizing both SOAP and REST APIs
• Proficient with standard web application development languages including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Advanced BillingPlatform development experience, including Advanced Reporting, Advanced Formula using BillingPlatform Query Language (BPQL), Widget Development, API Integrations and Custom Development
• Experience with relational databases and ability to construct, test, debug, and optimize complex queries
• Good understanding of system customization and use of recognized best practices
• In-depth knowledge of system configuration and security concepts
• Moderate skills with medium-to-high level of proficiency.
• Works under general supervision with increased latitude for independent judgment
• Identifies non-routine issues and routes/escalates to appropriate team members
• Understands how BillingPlatform integrates with other FIS applications and solutions
• Designs solutions and determines specific actions required to solve identified business needs. The role may provide advice to junior level peers
• Works on multiple concurrent projects of medium complexity
• Provides project status reports to management or senior peers. Is an active team member, contributes to complex projects to gain experience, shares ideas and suggests process improvements appropriate for level of experience. Typically requires a minimum of five years
