Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a Bengali Language Specialist in Gurgaon on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of English–Bengali translation experience, native Bengali fluency and strong editing skills to support multilingual content across digital platforms.

The role requires testing translated products, maintaining terminology, and guiding localization efforts with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Native Bengali fluency is required and English proficiency is near-native.
• 3+ years of English–Bengali translation and localization experience expected.
• Experience in localization testing and linguistic quality assurance preferred.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Bengali Language Specialist with strong translation and localization experience to support multilingual content across digital products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate and edit a variety of content, including UI content and long-form text.
• Perform linguistic and functional testing of translated products.
• Identify and resolve linguistic, grammatical, and cultural issues.
• Maintain and update terminology databases and style guides.
• Provide linguistic and cultural expertise for localization projects.
• Provide linguistic guidance and support to vendor translation teams.
• Ensure translated content is accurate, natural, culturally appropriate, and consistent.

What We’re Looking For

• 100% native fluency in Bengali and near-native fluency in English.
• 3+ years of experience in English Bengali translation.
• Strong editing and proofreading skills.
• Good understanding of Bengali culture, language nuances, and current trends.
• Experience in localization, linguistic testing, or digital content is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience working in the social media, mobile, web, or digital product space.
• Familiarity with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
• Experience working with translation/localization vendors.
