Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Avalara APAC is seeking a seasoned Senior Benefits Manager to own India benefits programs, ensuring compliance with Labour Codes while driving renewal cycles and vendor management. You will partner with Payroll, Finance, and People teams to deliver scalable, AI-enabled processes and data-driven insights.
In this role, you will lead annual renewals, payroll inputs, vendor management, and employee engagement, while ensuring statutory compliance and data accuracy in Workday for India.
You will own Avalara's India benefits portfolio — ensuring programs are compliant, competitive, and felt positively by the ~2,400 employees who rely on them. As a seasoned member of the Global Benefits team, you'll navigate the complexity of India's evolving Labour Code landscape, drive the annual benefits renewal cycle, build smarter ways of working through AI and automation, and serve as a trusted partner to Payroll, Finance, and People teams. This is a high-ownership role for someone who combines regulatory depth with the initiative to improve how benefits are delivered, not just administered.
Come and be part of the Global Benefits Team! We are a truly global team working together to design and deliver benefits programs that are competitive, compliant, and people-first. In India, we are navigating an exciting period of change with the Labour Codes transformation, and this role sits at the heart of that work
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
At Avalara, we expect this role to work with AI, not just alongside it. You are someone who reaches for Glean before writing a first draft, uses n8n or similar tools to automate repetitive data tasks, and treats AI-generated outputs with the same critical eye you'd apply to any vendor deliverable. You don't need to be an engineer — but you are curious, self‑directed, and actively building your AI fluency
AI is embedded in our workflows, decision‑making, and products. Success here requires embracing AI as an essential capability.
In addition to a great compensation package, paid time off, and paid parental leave, many Avalara employees are eligible for bonuses.
Benefits vary by location but generally include private medical, life, and disability insurance.
Avalara strongly supports diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is committed to integrating them into our business practices and our organizational culture. We also have a total of 8 employee‑run resource groups, each with senior leadership and exec sponsorship.
