Job summary

EY’s Global Delivery Services in India seeks a Senior Consultant – Cards and Payments Business Analyst to support banking payments transformations and new cards/ payment systems. You will work with cross‑functional teams across payments platforms, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to end‑to‑end delivery using Agile methodologies.

The role offers exposure to global programs and a dynamic, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in banking payments transformations or implementing new cards and payment systems.
• 3+ years as Tech Business Analyst for Payment Processing Systems in large banks.
• Familiar with NACHA, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, SWIFT payments standards.
• Proven BA/Tech BA in payments or financial services, with strong analytical skills.
• Experience with API integrations and payment technologies; Agile familiarity.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in payments and CB/PCI domains.
• Certification in BA or Agile methodologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into technical requirements for payment processing systems.
• Collaborate with banks, intermediaries and vendors to deliver card/payment projects.
• Document processes and model data mappings; support triaging issues in dev/production.
• Ensure compliance with payments regulations, gateways, and settlement flows.
• Engage stakeholders and govern multi-project initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Support governance, risk assessment, and change management activities.

The Opportunity

Cards and Payments Functional Business Analyst

Your Key Responsibilities

• 5+ years’ experience in banking payments transformations or implementing new cards and payment systems
• 3+ Years of experience of working as Tech Business Analyst for Payment Processing Systems in large banks.
• Familiar with Payments messaging standards such as NACHA, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, SWIFT
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in the payments or financial services domain.
• Strong understanding of payment systems, processing, and industry trends (e.g., ISO 20022, digital payments, payment gateways).
• Expertise in Cards Management platforms like HPS PowerCard, VisionPLUS, TSYS Prime
• Expertise in Enterprise Payment platforms like Finacle, Base24.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and modelling tools (e.g., UML, BPMN).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, JIRA).
• Experience with API integrations and payment technologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the payments industry.
• Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Agile methodologies.
• Good Knowledge of check payments value chain involving Fraud and Dispute management, Clearing and Settlement processing, Network regulations and compliance.
• Demonstrable payment processing and clearing knowledge especially data mapping and modelling to support triaging issues raised in development and production
• Proven track record of working on multiple projects and change management initiatives in a fast-paced and complex environment including liaising with external third‑party companies as necessary.
• Experience in stakeholder management and governance in large scale implementations.
• Sound knowledge of upstream and downstream systems in payments landscape like Core banking, Payment Switches, Compliance, FX, Advising, Billing etc.
• Knowledge about payments regulatory frameworks like SEPA, BASEL, PSD2, PCIDSS etc. is desirable
• Experience in working with payment processing stakeholders like Payment Intermediaries, Aggregators, Switches
