Job summary

Doonbank Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the delivery of meals in a clean, safe kitchen. This role is bank contracted with dayshift and regular hours, paying £12.71 per hour, with PVG paid and uniform provided.

You will assist with food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, deliveries, and stock organisation, working closely with the Chef to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach is essential.
• Good organisation and attention to detail are required.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene is important.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is expected.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
