Job summary

Aramya is launching handbags and you would own the design vision behind it. Youll lead the design direction for bags, build original collections, and work with sourcing and merchandising to scale the category from the ground up.

The role requires a strong portfolio, 3+ years in bags, and a degree from NIFT or FDDI. You will collaborate across disciplines to translate brand identity into distinctive collections for India and global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree from NIFT, or bags/leather-goods focused college (e.g., FDDI)
• 3+ years of experience specifically in the bags category
• Collaborate with sourcing, merchandising and product teams to realize ideas
• Translate brand identity, trends and consumer insights into distinctive bag collections

About the Role

Youll lead the design direction for bags, build original collections that feel fresh and ownable, and work closely with sourcing and merchandising to bring them to life as we scale the category from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding of various bag fabrics and being able to identify & analyse the fabric qualities.
• Knowledge across disciplines such as illustration, tech pack designs, graphic design, textiles, and interiors
• A strong portfolio showcasing trend-aware, culturally attuned, and commercially successful work.
• Strong understanding of materials, prototyping, and production processes
• Deep awareness of design and cultural trends in India and global markets.
• Ability to translate brand identity, trends, consumer insight, and sourcing realities into distinctive collections.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project goals and objectives.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree from NIFT, or a bags/leather-goods focused college or institute (such as FDDI).
