Job summary

Purview Services is seeking a Backup Administrator for NetBackup with hybrid work options in Hyderabad/Pune. The role covers installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of NetBackup environments, including Vault, Data Domain, and related backup tools.

You will coordinate with storage and server teams to ensure DR readiness and reliable data protection. The position requires hands-on experience with backup systems, SAN architectures, and enterprise replication, plus strong

Qualifications

• Experience with NetBackup installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Hands-on with Veritas Enterprise Vault and Data Domain appliances.
• Strong understanding of SAN infrastructure and TCP/IP concepts.
• Experience with Oracle backups, VMware IntelliSnap, and Commvault integration.
• Ability to analyze performance and security issues and perform patch management.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting backup failures and taking appropriate steps.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of SAN Client backup.
• Clear understanding on SLP and Vault.
• Upgrading and patching the Backup servers.
• Oracle SQL, VMware, Replication Director integration with NetBackup.
• Backup restoration DR of UNIX/Windows host.
• Backup restore for Oracle SQL NDMP/ESX.
• Managing internal database of NetBackup.
• Strong reporting skills for product data.

Job Title: Backup Administrators( NetBackup)

Role & responsibilities

L3 NetBackup Installation configuration NetBackup

Main activities Perform regular system maintenance including Incident solving Change implementation Patch management Analyze solve performance and security issues Complex backup scheduling maintenance also includes helping solve complex problems related to operating system databases middleware or applications teams:-

• Troubleshooting backup failures and taking appropriate steps
• Hands on experience on Veritas Enterprise Vault and Data Domain appliances.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of SAN Client backup Fiber Transport.
• Clear understanding on SLP and Vault.
• Upgrading and patching the Backup servers.
• Oracle SQL VMWare Replication Director Integration with NetBackup.
• Backup restoration DR of UNIX Windows Host.
• Backup Restore for Oracle SQL ESXNDMP.
• Managing Internal Database of NetBackup.
• Should also have good understanding on TCPIP concepts

Need to have clear understanding on SAN Infrastructure and Architecture Understanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specifications.

• Some knowledge on Object storage CenteraATMOSECSeVault administration.
• Preferred to have good understanding of VMWare IntelliSnap backups restore through Commvault.
• Oracle backups restore integration with Commvault.
• Understanding of Hyperscale Appliances with Commvault.
• Understanding of storage policies Schedule policies data aging concepts in Commvault.
• Understanding of reporting tools like NetBackup OpsCenter NetBackup IT Analytics Commvault reporting server .
• Having strong reporting skills and understanding of excel ppt to formulate reports out of product data .
