Job summary

Purview Services is seeking a Backup Administrator (NetBackup) to manage and optimize enterprise backup environments. The role involves NetBackup installation, configuration, routine maintenance, and patch management across hybrid environments including Hyderabad and Pune.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot backup failures, work with related tools like Veritas Vault, Data Domain, and Commvault, and ensure data protection across Oracle SQL and VMware platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience with NetBackup installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot backup failures and implement resolutions.
• Knowledge of SAN client backup and fiber transport.
• Understanding of SLP and Vault concepts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot backup failures and take appropriate steps.
• Hands-on experience with Veritas Enterprise Vault and Data Domain appliances.
• Configure and troubleshoot SAN Client backups and Fiber Transport.
• Maintain backups, patches and performance reporting; upgrade Backup servers.
• Integrate Oracle SQL with NetBackup and VMware-related backups.

Job Title: Backup Administrators( NetBackup)

Location: Hyderabad/Pune Hybrid

Role & responsibilities

L3 NetBackup Installation configuration NetBackup

Main activities Perform regular system maintenance including Incident solving Change implementation Patch management Analyze solve performance and security issues Complex backup scheduling maintenance also includes helping solve complex problems related to operating system databases middleware or applications teams:-

• Troubleshooting backup failures and taking appropriate steps
• Hands on experience on Veritas Enterprise Vault and Data Domain appliances.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of SAN Client backup Fiber Transport.
• Clear understanding on SLP and Vault.
• Upgrading and patching the Backup servers.
• Oracle SQL VMWare Replication Director Integration with NetBackup.
• Backup restoration DR of UNIX Windows Host.
• Backup Restore for Oracle SQL ESXNDMP.
• Managing Internal Database of NetBackup.
• Should also have good understanding on TCPIP concepts

Need to have clear understanding on SAN Infrastructure and Architecture Understanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specifications.

• Some knowledge on Object storage CenteraATMOSECSeVault administration.
• Preferred to have good understanding of VMWare IntelliSnap backups restore through Commvault.
• Oracle backups restore integration with Commvault.
• Understanding of Hyperscale Appliances with Commvault.
• Understanding of storage policies Schedule policies data aging concepts in Commvault.
• Understanding of reporting tools like NetBackup OpsCenter NetBackup IT Analytics Commvault reporting server .
• Having strong reporting skills and understanding of excel ppt to formulate reports out of product data .
• Configure customize and schedule reports in Backup reporting product tools.
