Job summary

C-Edge Technologies Ltd. is seeking a Backup Administrator to manage and maintain the organization's backup and recovery infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and availability for business operations.

You will monitor backup systems, schedule jobs, implement DR plans, investigate failures, generate reports, and provide 24/7 on-call support, working with cross‑functional teams. Proficiency with Commvault, Data Domain, tape libraries, and experience across Windows, Linux, VMware/HyperV, Oracle

Qualifications

• Manage and maintain backup infrastructure to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Configure and schedule backup jobs (full/incremental/differential) using tools like Commvault, NetBackup, etc.
• Provide level 2/3 support; investigate failures and perform root cause analysis with cross‑functional teams.
• Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans with DR drills.
• Generate reports on backup health, capacity, and RPO/RTO compliance.
• On-call 24/7 support for critical backup incidents.
• Experience across Windows, Linux, VMware/HyperV, databases (Oracle RMAN, SQL) and cloud platforms.

Responsible for managing and maintaining organizational backup and recovery infrastructure to ensure data integrity and availability. Ensures business continuity by implementing robust backup policies, DR plans, and ongoing monitoring.

• Backup Environment Management
• Perform daily monitoring and management of backup systems (on-prem)
• Configure, manage, schedule, and maintain backup jobs (full, incremental, differential) using tools such as D2D, Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, etc.
• Incident & Problem Management
• Investigate backup failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with network, storage, and DBA teams for resolutions
• Act as escalation point and provide level 2/3 support for backup issues
• Disaster Recovery & Testing
• Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans through regular DR drills
• Documentation & Reporting
• Create and update SOPs, runbooks, and backup policies
• Generate reports on backup/restore health, capacity, RPO/RTO compliance
• Capacity & Storage Management
• Monitor backup storage usage, manage deduplication, retention, replication jobs, and tape libraries
• System & Infrastructure Support
• Maintain backup infrastructure including backup servers, appliances, SAN/NAS, and tape systems
• Optimize backup processes for performance, efficiency, and storage usage
• Compliance & Security
• Ensure backups meet data protection, archival policies, and compliance standards (e.g., encryption, retention)
• On-call Support
• Provide 247 operational support with on-call rotation for critical backup incidents
• Technical Skills
• Proficient with enterprise backup tools Commvault, Data domain,tapes
• Experience across Windows, Linux, VMware/HyperV, databases (Oracle RMAN, SQL), and cloud platforms
• Familiar with SAN, NAS, deduplication, tape libraries, Data Domain
