Job summary

ALLEN Digital in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Engineer II - Backend to design, develop, and maintain core backend services for our edtech platform. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle and help drive reliable, scalable solutions.

The role requires strong fundamentals in distributed systems and microservices, hands-on coding, and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

As a Software Engineer II - Backend at ALLEN Digital, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical systems that power our edtech platform. You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to architecture decisions, writing clean and efficient code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Define the architecture, design, develop, test, document and operate backend systems andservices. Accountable for solution elegance, ease of evolution, quality of the systems andperformance, scalability, and availability characteristics.
• Work with product management and other engineering peers to deliver on the goals.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior developers.
• Be a technical engineer passionate about distributed systems, cloud service development,deployment, and delivery.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirementsfor software development.
• Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
• Write clean, maintainable code while rapidly iterating and shipping the features.

• Work experience of 2-5yrs
• A solid engineer at heart with excellent abstraction, coding, and system design skills withexcellent programming skills
