Persistent is hiring a Backend Engineer with strong Go expertise to design and build scalable backend systems and microservices for banking platforms. You will develop high-performance services, APIs, and batch components, while ensuring security, performance, and maintainability.

You’ll work with product managers and DevOps in an agile environment, contributing to architecture discussions and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of overall software development experience.
• 2+ years hands‑on Go Lang development.
• Strong backend engineering and API development experience.
• Experience designing scalable microservices architectures.
• Proven debugging of complex distributed systems.

About Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Golang to design and develop scalable backend systems and microservices for enterprise and mobile banking platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services, APIs, and microservices using Go Lang
• Develop batch programs and backend components meeting quality, scalability, and timeliness goals
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to backend solution design
• Help build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployments across SIT, UAT, and Production environments
• Ensure application security, reliability, scalability, and performance optimization
• Perform code reviews and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and maintainability
• Ensure adequate technical documentation and inline code documentation for future maintainability
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA teams, and DevOps teams for successful project delivery
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Analyze, debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in existing systems
• Complete unit testing and support integration testing activities
• Continuously improve self and team capabilities in line with evolving backend technologies and engineering practices
• Mentor junior developers and support technical capability building within the team

Expertise You’ll Bring

• Experience 4–6 years of overall software development experience
• Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience in Go Lang development
• Strong experience in backend engineering and API development
• Experience in designing and developing scalable microservices architectures
• Proven experience in debugging and analyzing complex distributed systems
• Strong proficiency in Go Lang
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture
• Experience with SQL databases and persistence layers
• Experience with NoSQL databases
• Experience with Message Queue / Kafka
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Understanding of secure coding standards and application security principles
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
