Job summary

Deloitte US-India Offices is seeking a senior backend engineer to lead end-to-end design and development of scalable backend applications. You will architect distributed, fault-tolerant systems and design REST/GraphQL APIs, collaborating with Product, Frontend, Security and Platform teams.

The role requires hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and modern backend security, with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and distributed systems.
• Design scalable REST/GraphQL APIs and backend systems.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, memory management and performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on with Kafka and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices.

• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka/event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, caching, and resilience patterns.
• Experience with OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, RBAC, and backend security.
• Experience with JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, integration testing, and contract testing.
• Strong technical leadership, architecture, mentoring, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
