Job summary

WPP is seeking a senior Azure Platform lead to manage the Azure Platform team, design landing zones, and build reusable cloud components. You will mentor engineers, implement modular Terraform code, and streamline deployments with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.

This role requires strong leadership, collaboration with security and data teams, and a focus on scalable enterprise solutions. The position offers a hybrid work model with four days in office and opportunities to influence technology

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Infrastructure, Cloud Eng, and DevOps with leadership experience.
• Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305/AZ-303/304) and Terraform Associate.
• Extensive experience deploying enterprise workloads on Azure using Well‑Architected Framework.
• Experience writing modular Terraform code and using Terraform Cloud for teamwork.
• CI/CD proficiency with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Azure RBAC, Key Vaults, Private Endpoints, and policy enforcement.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, GitOps, and ITIL processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

The role is responsible for leading Azure Platform team to develop and build the re‑usable or shared service components of the Azure Cloud Platform.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage, prioritize, and run the day-to-day sprint workload for the Azure Platform team, mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and ensuring we deliver on our project commitments.
• Design and maintain our enterprise Azure landing zones, keeping our management groups, subscriptions, hub‑spoke/vWAN networking, and Azure Policies structured and compliant.
• Write, test, and maintain reusable, production‑ready Terraform modules, establish release cycles published within Terraform Cloud Registry.
• Design and optimise automated deployment workflows using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps to enable reliable, zerotouch platform deployments.
• Partner with application, data, and security teams across the business to turn common requirements into self‑service, reusable cloud platform components.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex platform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident resolution in a 24/7 enterprise production environment.

What you'll need:

• 7+ years of experience across Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, and DevOps, including proven experience in a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Team Management capacity.
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305 / AZ-303/304), HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
• Strong background designing, deploying, and running enterprise‑scale workloads on Microsoft Azure following the Azure Well‑Architected Framework along with upgrade of Landing Zones to latest stable version.
• Extensive practical experience authoring modular Terraform code, managing state at scale, and using Terraform Cloud for team collaboration and governance.
• Proven ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot multi‑environment CI/CD pipelines in both GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vaults, Private Endpoints, and Azure Policy enforcement.
• Hands‑on experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery practices, modern GitOps workflows, and operational frameworks (e.g., ITIL v4 processes, incident management).
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, clear written and verbal communication, and a strong track record of diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues.
