Job summary

Weekday is seeking a seasoned Data Platform Migration Specialist to steer the end-to-end migration from Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric. You will design migration playbooks, implement robust ETL pipelines, and ensure data integrity across environments.

The role demands 7+ years in similar migrations, strong SQL/Python skills, and expertise with ADLS Gen2, CosmosDB, and Purview to maintain governance and performance through the migration lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience delivering Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric migration projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Expertise in Azure Data Factory for ETL pipeline development.
• Experience with ADLS Gen2 and CosmosDB for data modeling/integration.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Stream Analytics.
• Knowledge of Event Hub and Logic Apps for event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related ETL technologies.
• Design, model, and maintain modern data warehousing solutions using SQL Server, ADLS Gen2, CosmosDB, and Blob storage.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune performance of data integration and analytics solutions during migration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Utilize Azure Monitoring and Purview for governance, lineage, and observability.
• Document architecture, processes, and best practices for knowledge transfer.

• 7. Utilize Azure Monitoring and Purview to ensure robust governance, lineage, and observability of data assets during and after migration.
