Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a senior Azure Cloud & Terraform SME to lead cloud operations, IaC, and DevOps for banking applications. You will design and optimize Terraform modules, manage Azure resources, and drive automation across CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.

You will work with Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms, support on-call incidents, and implement scalable, secure cloud patterns. This role demands deep Azure expertise and hands-on scripting capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience with banking/BFSI clients.
• 5+ years hands-on Azure Cloud experience.
• 4+ years Terraform implementation and infrastructure automation.
• Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD and IaC.
• Hands-on with Azure services: VMs, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Storage, Key Vault, Monitor, Policy, Entra ID, Landing Zones.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, Docker, and Helm.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Shell/Bash, Python (preferred).
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace.
• Certifications in Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift and DevOps are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Azure Cloud Operations & Engineering: Manage and support enterprise Azure environments; deploy, maintain, optimize infrastructure; follow security/governance standards.
• Terraform & IaC: Develop/maintain Terraform modules; multi-subscription deployments; optimize for scalability and compliance.

The Role

Are you ready to join the team of software engineering experts at Kyndryl? We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Technical Specialist to contribute to our software engineering space and provide critical skills required for the development of cutting-edge products. Kyndryl is looking for a highly skilled Azure Cloud & Terraform SME with strong hands-on expertise in Azure Infrastructure, Terraform-based deployments, DevOps tooling, container platforms, and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, supporting, and continuously improving Azure cloud environments used for critical banking applications. The role requires deep technical expertise in Terraform, Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and scripting, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of Azure architecture patterns, cloud design principles, networking, security, and operational best practices. However, this is not a Solution Architect role and does not require ownership of enterprise architecture or new solution design.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Operations & Engineering

Manage and support enterprise Azure cloud environments. Deploy, maintain, and optimize Azure infrastructure services. Implement Azure infrastructure changes following security and governance standards. Support cloud onboarding, migration, and modernization activities. Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and platform issues.

Terraform & Infrastructure as Code

Develop, maintain, and enhance Terraform modules and templates. Execute and manage Terraform deployments across multiple Azure subscriptions and environments. Review and optimize Terraform code for scalability, consistency, and compliance. Troubleshoot Terraform deployment failures and state management issues. Support Infrastructure-as-Code adoption and automation initiatives.

DevOps & CI/CD

Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines. Manage deployment automation using Azure DevOps and GitHub. Support GitHub repositories, branching strategies, and release processes. Integrate infrastructure deployment pipelines with Terraform automation. Drive automation of repetitive operational activities.

Container Platform Management

Support and administer Kubernetes and OpenShift environments. Deploy and manage containerized applications. Troubleshoot platform, networking, storage, and deployment-related issues. Support container platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities. Work closely with application teams on container onboarding and deployments.

Production Support

Provide L2/L3 support for business-critical banking applications and platforms. Lead troubleshooting of high-severity incidents related to Azure infrastructure and platforms. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Participate in on-call and major incident support activities. Develop operational runbooks and knowledge articles.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

8+ years of IT experience with Banking/BFSI customers.

5+ years of hands-on Azure Cloud experience.

4+ years of Terraform implementation and infrastructure automation experience.

Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.

Hands-on experience with Azure services including VMs, VNETs, NSGs, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Storage, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Azure Policy, Entra ID, and Landing Zones.

Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, Docker, and Helm.

Proficiency in PowerShell, Shell/Bash scripting, and Python (preferred).

Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, and Dynatrace.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
