Job summary

Penthara Technologies in Mohali is seeking an experienced M365 Azure Migration Engineer to lead end-to-end migrations, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive. The role demands hands-on migration expertise and strong cloud security practices.

You'll work with cross-functional teams, design scalable Azure/M365 environments, and automate tasks with PowerShell and Azure CLI. Evening shifts (5:00 PM–2:00 AM IST) apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of IT industry experience.
• Proven Microsoft 365 and Azure migration project experience, at least one large migration.
• AZ-900 certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of M365 services: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Microsoft 365 and Azure migration projects (assessment, planning, implementation, post-migration support).
• Plan migrations for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Azure workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate users, apps, data, and infrastructure.
• Design secure, scalable, highly available Azure and M365 environments; implement Entra ID and authentication solutions.
• Create automation via PowerShell and Azure CLI; maintain migration documentation and SOPs.
• Mentor junior engineers and key project stakeholders.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced M365 Azure Migration Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in planning and executing Microsoft 365 and Azure migration projects, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure cloud infrastructure migrations. This role requires deep knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies, networking concepts, security best practices, and migration methodologies.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute end-to-end Microsoft 365 and Azure migration projects, including assessment, planning, implementation, and post-migration support.
• Plan and perform migrations involving Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Azure workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless migration of users, applications, data, and infrastructure.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions within Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Configure and manage Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), identity synchronization, and authentication solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 services, Azure infrastructure, networking, and security.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Azure CLI to streamline migration and administration activities.
• Create and maintain migration documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of overall IT industry experience.
• Proven experience in Microsoft 365 and Azure migration projects, with at least one large-scale migration successfully completed.
• AZ-900 certification is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including:
  • Exchange Online
  • SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Teams
  • OneDrive for Business
  • Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
• Hands‑on experience with migration tools such as:
  • Azure Migrate
  • Azure Site Recovery
  • SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT)
  • Exchange Migration Tools
  • Quest, BitTitan, or similar migration platforms
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including:
  • DNS
  • VPN
  • Firewalls
  • Routing
  • Load Balancers
• Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud governance.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Azure CLI automation.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, MS-102, or other Microsoft certifications.
• Experience with Hybrid Exchange and Hybrid SharePoint environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender Security Suite and Microsoft Purview.
• Experience with identity and access management, including:
  • Entra ID
  • Conditional Access
  • MFA
  • RBAC
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure integration.
