Job summary

Persistent is seeking an experienced AWS Transform Application Architect to lead modernization across all Persistent locations in India. The role focuses on cloud-native architectures, leveraging AWS Transform, Bedrock, and AI-assisted modernization for legacy systems.

You will guide cross-functional teams, define modernization roadmaps, and mentor solution architects while collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver measurable modernization outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12-18 years of experience in Application/Enterprise Architecture and cloud transformation.
• Hands-on with AWS cloud services and modernization frameworks (AWS Transform).

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Transform Application Architect with 12-18 years of expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, and large-scale application modernization. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies, AWS Transform, enterprise modernization strategies, and legacy system transformation programs. In this role, you will be responsible for defining modernization strategies, designing cloud-native architectures, leading transformation initiatives, and leveraging Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies to accelerate application modernization efforts. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and customers to drive successful modernization outcomes.

What You'll Do:

• Design and architect enterprise-scale AWS cloud solutions using cloud-native, microservices, API-led, and event-driven architectures.
• Assess legacy applications and define modernization strategies including Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Rewrite, and Retire approaches.
• Lead application modernization programs involving Mainframe, AS/400, RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, and legacy enterprise platforms.
• Utilize AWS Transform and AWS Transform Custom to assess, transform, and modernize enterprise applications.
• Perform legacy system analysis, reverse engineering, and code-to-specification activities.
• Extract business rules, technical workflows, dependencies, and functional requirements from legacy applications.
• Define target-state architectures and modernization roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized AWS architectures.
• Architect Java/Spring Boot and microservices-based modernization solutions.
• Leverage Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, RAG architectures, and AI-powered modernization frameworks.
• Utilize Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions to automate code analysis, transformation, documentation, testing, and migration activities.
• Lead architecture workshops, modernization assessments, and technical discovery sessions.
• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership across large-scale cloud transformation and modernization programs.
• Establish architecture standards, governance processes, and engineering best practices.
• Support pre-sales engagements, solution planning, estimation, and technical proposal development.
• Mentor architects and engineering teams on cloud architecture and modernization strategies.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 12-18 years of experience in Application Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Enterprise Technology Transformation.
• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS cloud services and enterprise architecture design.
• Proven experience designing and implementing AWS cloud-native solutions.
• Extensive experience with AWS Transform and AWS modernization frameworks.
• Strong experience leading large-scale application modernization initiatives.
• Expertise in modernization of Mainframe, AS/400 CL, RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, and other legacy technologies.
• Experience defining modernization strategies including Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Rewrite, and Retire.
• Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture, API-first development, and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, cloud-native application development, and distributed architectures.
• Experience performing reverse engineering, code analysis, and business rule extraction from legacy systems.
• Strong knowledge of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and enterprise AI adoption strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Experience utilizing AI-powered tools for code transformation, documentation generation, test automation, and modernization acceleration.
• Strong expertise in architecture governance, security, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud operating models.
• Excellent stakeholder management, consulting, and customer-facing communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and large modernization programs.
• Experience mentoring solution architects and technical leaders.
