Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc is seeking an experienced AWS Disaster Recovery Specialist in Chennai to design and implement resilient DR solutions for mission-critical workloads. You will build IaC frameworks (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK), automate failover workflows, and run regular DR drills to validate recovery procedures.

You will optimize cloud architecture for resilience, scalability, and cost, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and document runbooks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
• Hands-on automation experience.
• Solid understanding of high-availability architectures, multi-region design, and cross-region replication.
• Strong scripting experience (Python or Bash).
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• AWS Certification Professional-level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical workloads.
• Design automation frameworks and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar.
• Build end-to-end automated failover and recovery workflows to meet RTO/RPO objectives.
• Run DR drills, simulations, and failover tests to validate recovery procedures.
• Monitor, optimize, and enhance cloud architecture for resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure DR readiness; document runbooks and diagrams.
• Assist in root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and evaluate new AWS services.
• Experience with container platforms (ECS, EKS, Docker).
