Job summary

Hector And Streak Consulting is seeking a Liferay Portal/DXP architect/developer to lead architecture and delivery for complex portal solutions. You will work on Java/JSP/Servlets and React, build custom portlets, and integrate REST/SOAP APIs with third-party systems.

The role requires OSGi module development, migration experience, and strong DevOps familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud deployments. You will guide juniors and coordinate with product and design teams in an Agile setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead Liferay development projects and architectures.
• Implement Liferay Portal/DXP features using Java, JSP, Servlets and React.

• Integrate REST/SOAP APIs and third-party systems.
• Manage versions, migrations, and upgrades across Liferay releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor juniors.

Role & responsibilities :

• Strong experience in Liferay Portal / Liferay DXP development and architecture
• Expertise in: Java, JSP, Servlets and React
• Liferay Service Builder, Custom Portlet Development (MVC, Spring MVC)
• Hooks, EXT plugins, Themes, Layouts, Fragments
• Deep knowledge of Liferay DXP architecture, module development (OSGi), and customization best practices
• Hands-on with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, and third-party integrations
• Strong experience with Liferay Roles, Permissions, Workflow, and User Management
• Experience in Liferay upgrades/migrations across versions (e.g., 6.x to 7.x / DXP)
• Comfortable with Oracle / MySQL, proficient in SQL / PL-SQL
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and deployment processes
• Proficient in version control systems (Git/SVN) and build tools (Maven, Gradle)
• Experience in leading teams, code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring juniors
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and working with cross-functional teams
• Experience in integrating and configuring Elasticsearch for Liferay search and indexing
• Proficient in using Jira for managing development tasks, tracking issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum projects.
• Experience with Liferay Headless APIs, Liferay Forms, and Asset Framework
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerized deployments
• Exposure to UI/UX collaboration using Figma ability to interpret designs and coordinate with design teams
