Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru seeks an experienced test automation specialist to design, develop, and maintain automated tests across UI and API layers using Playwright and UI Path. You will contribute to scalable modular frameworks and collaborate in distributed Agile teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

You will implement POM-based architectures, migrate scripts between frameworks, and generate detailed test reports with cucumber and Extent.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT with test automation across UI and API layers.
• Experience building and maintaining automated scripts with Playwright and UI Path.
• Experience designing E2E, component, and API tests and implementing POM.
• Ability to migrate automation scripts between frameworks.
• Experience with SQL/Oracle/MySQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Experience in distributed Agile teams (SCRUM/SAFe).
• Experience with GitLab, GitHub, AWS CodeCommit and related tools.
• Experience generating test reports (Cucumber/Extent).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API tests.
• Design and implement modular automation frameworks with POM.
• Automate backend REST services and write custom functions using Postman, REST Assured, Cypress.
• Migrate automation scripts across frameworks.
• Create master test plans, test cases, and schedules.
• Execute tests across development projects: functional, UI, regression, security, UAT.
• Identify and track defects, risks, and action items.
• Generate and interpret test reports (Cucumber/Extent).

Role & responsibilities

Strong knowledge of:

• 5 years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in test automation of applications from UI and API layer.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using UI Path, Playwright for web applications.
• Design and execute E2E, component, and API tests using Playwright.
• Experience building test automation framework from ground up using modular framework and design pattern like Page Object Model design pattern (POM) etc.
• Implement and enhance Page Object Model (POM) and modular automation frameworks for scalability.
• Experience automating backend REST services including writing custom functions using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, Ready API etc.
• Ability to migrate automation scripts from one framework to another.
• Experience with one or more querying languages such SQL (preferred), Oracle, MySQL and/or No SQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB etc).
• Experience working in distributed agile teams using agile frameworks such as SCRUM, SAFe, XP etc.
• Experience working with source code management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, AWS Code Commit etc.
• Experience of creating test reports from automation test run using tools such as cucumber report, Extent report etc.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new tools and evolving technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Develop/create master test plans and related documents, test cases, and test schedules.
• Execute test cases/scenarios across development projects. Test types to include functionality, user interface, regression, security, and user acceptance.
• Document test scripts and test plans tied back to requirements.
• Identify and track defects, issues, risks, and action items.
