Job summary

Cerebulb in Gandhinagar, India is seeking an experienced automation engineer to develop and integrate PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. The role includes hands-on work with Wonderware, AVEVA System Platform, and Tailwind SCADA, plus deployment across industrial networks.

Ideal candidates will have extensive PLC programming and instrumentation experience, with strong knowledge of Modbus/OPC/Ethernet/IP and willingness to travel for commissioning and support on-site projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Integrate field instrumentation, sensors, VFDs, and actuators in electrical networks and water management/command centres.
• Conduct FAT and on-site system commissioning to ensure reliability and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software faults to minimize downtime and ensure on-time delivery.
• Create and update electrical schematics, FDS, and SOPs.

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SCADA/HMI applications using Wonderware and AVEVA System Platform.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot Schneider PLC systems.
• Design, implement, and support Tailwind SCADA applications.
• Integrate PLC, SCADA, and industrial communication systems.
• Perform testing, commissioning, and on-site support for automation projects.
• Troubleshoot automation and control system issues to ensure reliable plant operations.
• Prepare technical documentation, commissioning reports, and system backups.
• Coordinate with project, electrical, and instrumentation teams for successful project execution.

Preferred candidate profile

• 35 years of experience in Industrial software and Automation.
• Strong working knowledge of Wonderware.
• Experience with AVEVA System Platform.
• Hands-on experience in Tailwind SCADA.
• Proficiency in Schneider Electric RTU / Process Controllers / Communication / Programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, etc.
• Willingness to travel for project commissioning as and when required.
• Additional instrumentation background would be added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Programming: Develop and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Integration: Integrate field instrumentation, sensors, Frequency Drives (VFDs), and other actuators in electrical network / Water management system and Integrated Command and control Centre.
• Testing & Commissioning: Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and on-site system commissioning to ensure equipment reliability and safety compliance.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose hardware and software faults on the shop floor to minimize unplanned equipment downtime and complete the project with on time delivery.
• Documentation: Create and update electrical schematics, functional design specifications (FDS), and standard operating procedures.
