Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking an Automation Engineer to join an international engineering team focused on steam turbine modernization. You will develop tailored control, instrumentation, and protection solutions, supporting from engineering to commissioning to ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

On-site assignments and regional travel may be involved. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with SAP, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, or COMOS is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
• Experience with engineering and product-lifecycle applications such as SAP, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, or COMOS is an advantage.
• Business-fluent written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and document modernization solutions, and implement associated design changes.
• Prepare component specifications, perform engineering calculations, and create drawings, BOMs, system diagrams, and functional specifications.
• Design control solutions using SPPA-T3000.
• Provide technical support to project teams and site personnel during installation and commissioning.
• Undertake occasional on-site assignments at power plants; travel may be domestic or international depending on the project.

As an Automation Engineer, you will work with an international engineering team to develop tailored control, instrumentation, and protection solutions for steam turbine modernization projects. From engineering and documentation to commissioning support, your work will help customers operate their plants safely, reliably, and efficiently while contributing to a secure global energy supply.

• Plan, develop, and document modernization solutions, and implement the associated design changes.
• Prepare component specifications, perform engineering calculations, and create drawings, bills of materials, system diagrams, and functional specifications.
• Design control solutions using SPPA-T3000.
• Provide technical support to project teams and site personnel in resolving issues during installation and commissioning.
• Undertake occasional on-site assignments at power plants to support technical assessments, installation, and commissioning activities. These assignments may require domestic or international travel depending on the project.

About the Team

Our innovative team delivers service and modernization projects for steam turbine auxiliary and control systems. In this role, you will work closely with specialists in mechanical design, instrumentation and control, project management, procurement, manufacturing, field service, and commissioning. You will also collaborate with gas turbine auxiliary-system experts across our engineering hubs in Muelheim, Berlin, Orlando, Gurgaon, and Charlotte.

The increasing role of renewable energies, the rising demand for energy, and the ageing infrastructure require a modernization and renovation of the existing grid. We want to support the growing business with grid stabilization products like synchronous condensers.
