Job summary

MetaforgeIT solutions in Pune is seeking an Automation Architect (Telecom Domain only) with 12–14 years of software quality engineering experience to design scalable automation frameworks and lead testing across markets.

You will bridge development and operations in Agile/DevOps environments, mentor QA engineers, and set automation governance and best practices for UI/API/DB testing.

Job Description: Automation Architect (Telecom Domain only)

Location: Pune

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and highly technical Automation Architect with 12 to 14 years of experience to lead our quality engineering strategy. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of designing scalable automation frameworks from the ground up and driving testing excellence across multiple markets. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless delivery within Agile and DevOps environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Leadership: Define and drive the global automation strategy across multiple markets. Act as a self-governing leader who can set technical roadmaps and execute them with minimal supervision.
  • Framework Design: Architect, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and maintainable automation frameworks using modern technologies.
  • DevOps Integration: Integrate automated testing suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to align testing objectives with business goals.
  • Technical Governance: Establish best practices for automation coding standards, tool selection, and testing methodologies across the organization.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers and SDETs to elevate the overall technical capability of the team.
Required Technical Skills
  • Core Automation: Expert-level proficiency in Selenium with Java and modern tools like Playwright and Karate.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Deep knowledge of GitHub and experience working within DevOps workflows to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Agile Methodologies: Extensive experience working in Agile environments, participating in sprint planning, and driving iterative delivery.
  • Test Management Tools: Advanced proficiency in Jira and Confluence for defect tracking, test management, and technical documentation.
  • Architecture: Proven ability to design multi-layered automation architectures (UI, API, and Database testing).
Professional Qualifications
  • Experience: 12–14 years in Software Quality Engineering, with a significant portion focused on architecture and strategic leadership.
  • Global Mindset: Proven track record of managing and driving testing strategies across different geographical markets/regions.
  • Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical business leaders.
  • Autonomy: Highly "self-governed" professional capable of taking full ownership of the automation lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience in performance testing or security testing integration.
