Job summary

JobItUs in India is seeking an experienced Asst. Manager / Manager - EHS to lead safety programs at the Vapi site. The role requires 15-20 years in engineering environments and hands-on implementation of EHS policies.

You will drive risk assessments, incident investigations, training, emergency planning, PTW systems, and contractor safety while promoting a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering environment with EHS leadership.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (HIRA/JSA).
• Incident investigation and root-cause analysis skills.
• Fire and emergency management experience.
• Safety training and communication skills.
• Statutory compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, safety procedures, and statutory compliance.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, HIRA/JSA, and risk assessments.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, and employee safety training.
• Manage emergency preparedness, fire safety, mock drills, and evacuations.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Monitor PPE compliance, machine safety, work at height, confined spaces, hot work, and high-risk activities.
• Implement and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
• Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
• Maintain EHS records, reports, inspections, and support internal/statutory audits.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the manufacturing facility.
