Job summary

Geo-Chem India seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the Building Material Testing Laboratory in Mulund (Mumbai). You will manage daily operations, supervise engineers, ensure test accuracy, and coordinate with clients and regulators to ensure timely delivery of results.

The role requires a civil engineering background with 6+ years in building material testing labs, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity. Strong QA/QC, calibration, and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in building material testing labs, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Building Material Testing Laboratory.
• Test materials like cement, concrete, steel, aggregates, bricks, blocks, soil per applicable standards.
• Monitor quality control procedures and testing accuracy.
• Review and approve test reports before issuance.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, consultants and regulators.
• Develop and implement laboratory procedures and quality management systems.
• Train, supervise and evaluate laboratory engineers and technicians.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Investigate testing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly reports on testing activities and lab performance.
• Support audits, certifications and accreditation requirements.
