Job summary

Shar Projects in Ballari, Karnataka, leads power distribution and O&M in mining, planning and executing 33/220 kV switchyards, 125 MW solar plants, and 132/33 kV substations. The role involves liaison with authorities, safety compliance, and on-site supervision of transformers, switchgear, and feeders.

Candidate will coordinate with civil, mechanical and electrical teams to meet project milestones, conduct testing/commissioning, and ensure quality and safety per DGMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, erection and commissioning of high-voltage switchyards (33/220 kV).
• Experience with solar plants (125 MW) and mine power distribution.
• Knowledge of DGMS guidelines and electrical safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise erection and commissioning of HV switchyards and substations.
• Coordinate daily site activities with civil, mechanical and electrical teams.
• Prepare progress, inspection and materials reconciliation reports.

Job description

• Power Distribution and O&M in Mining sector
• Project Planning, Material planning, BOQ/BOM Preparation, Erection Testing & Commissioning of 33/220kV Switchyard, 125 MW Solar Plant 33/11kv substation, 132/33kV Substation and as well as U/G cable.
• liaisoning with authorities and follow-up for approval and preparation of Legal compliance of all the notices received for the Government authorities and for all compliances.
• Supervision of erection and commissioning of a 33/220 kV solar power plant switchyard, with 125MVA Power Transformer
• Manage the installation of power transformers, CTs, CVTs, circuit breakers, isolators, and lightning arresters.
• Coordinate daily site activities with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to achieve project milestones.
• Ensured all electrical works were executed as per approved drawings, BOQ, and technical specifications.
• Supervise HT/LT cable laying, termination, and testing activities for switchyard equipment.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of transformers, protection relays, and control panels before energization.
• Monitored quality, safety, and compliance with project standards and electrical safety regulations.
• Prepared daily progress reports, inspection records, and material reconciliation reports.
• Experienced in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of 33/11 kV substations and mine power distribution systems.
• Supervised installation, testing, and commissioning of transformers, switchgear, and feeders in coal mine projects.
• Carried out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment ensuring minimum downtime.
• Installation and Commissioning of On Grid Solar power plant
• Managed installation of a 1500 KVA DG set in the 33/11kV substation
• Handled operation and maintenance of 3-phase 270 HP and 320HP dewatering motors to ensure continuous and efficient water evacuation in mining operation.
• Knowledge of mine electrical safety regulations, statutory compliance, and DGMS guidelines and experienced in earthing systems, lightning arresters, and neutral grounding (NGR) for my safety.
• Managed electrical supply for draglines, shovels, conveyors, crushers, pumps, and lighting systems.
• Conducted electrical inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks to ensure safe working conditions and Prepared and maintained SLD, load calculations, cable schedules, and inspection reports.Role & responsibilities
