CG SEMI Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Test Development Engineer to drive semiconductor test-program development, debugging, optimization and deployment from engineering development through high-volume manufacturing.

You will work with customers, Product Engineering, NPI, Quality, Manufacturing and ATE suppliers to establish robust and production-ready test solutions for analog, digital and mixed-signal ICs, using platforms like Advantest V93000, Teradyne J750, ASL3000 and ETS-364.

Qualifications

  • Experience in ATE test-program development for OSAT or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor testing methodologies and test-program verification.
  • Experience with ATE platforms and related hardware is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug and optimize semiconductor test programs on ATE platforms.
  • Develop test solutions for analog, digital and mixed-signal ICs.
  • Lead test-program development from requirements to production release.
  • Coordinate with customers and internal teams for test-program status and issues.
  • Transfer and validate test solutions at OSAT sites; ensure production readiness.
  • Drive test yields, cycle time reductions and test-hardware utilization.

About the Role

CG SEMI is looking for an experienced Test Development Engineer to drive semiconductor test-program development, debugging, optimization and deployment from engineering development through high-volume manufacturing.

The role will work closely with customers, Product Engineering, NPI, Quality, Manufacturing, hardware suppliers and ATE suppliers to establish robust and production-ready test solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, debug and optimize semiconductor test programs on ATE platforms.
  • Develop test solutions for analog, digital and mixed-signal ICs.
  • Work on ATE platforms such as Advantest V93000, Teradyne J750, ASL3000 and ETS-364.
  • Lead test-program development from initial requirements through qualification and production release.
  • Transfer and validate test solutions at OSAT sites and ensure successful correlation and production readiness.
  • Support development and selection of load boards, probe cards, test sockets and interface kits.
  • Perform device characterization, test-program validation and silicon/debug support.
  • Analyze test results, yield data and failure trends and drive root-cause investigations.
  • Support investigation and resolution of test escapes, product failures and production test issues.
  • Drive test-time reduction through vector optimization, parallel testing and hardware-reuse strategies.
  • Work with Product, Design and Reliability Engineering teams to define test requirements and support silicon debug.
  • Coordinate with customers on test-program requirements, development status, technical discussions and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with ATE equipment suppliers and hardware suppliers for technical issues, capability evaluation and implementation.
  • Support qualification and deployment of test programs and associated test hardware.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to improve test yield, cycle time and overall test efficiency.
  • Prepare technical documentation, test-program reports and development records.
  • Train and guide OSAT engineers during test-program development and ensure effective knowledge transfer to production.
  • Ensure seamless transition of test programs from development to mass production.
Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience in ATE Test Program Development.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor testing methodologies.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Parametric Testing
  • Functional Testing
  • Scan Testing
  • BIST
  • Memory Testing
  • Programming experience in C/C++, Python or proprietary ATE scripting languages.
  • Experience with ATE platforms such as:
  • Advantest V93000
  • Teradyne J750
  • ASL3000
  • ETS-364
  • Understanding of test hardware, load boards, probe cards, sockets and interface hardware.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and test hardware debugging.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor yield and test-data analysis.
  • Strong communication and project-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with global engineering teams.
Preferred Experience

Education & Experience

Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience:
3–10+ years of relevant experience in ATE Test Development, preferably within a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.

  • Strong ownership and execution mindset.
  • Willingness to support technical troubleshooting and production ramp-up.
  • Occasional travel may be required for test bring-up, correlation and troubleshooting.
