Responsibilities

  • Understand project, electrical and instrumentation requirements, process data, design basis and project parameters.
  • Plan and execute basic and detailed E&I engineering activities with project schedules, specifications and QMS.
  • Develop and review electrical control wiring diagrams, cable schedules, layouts, earthing; lighting and protection layouts.
  • Review Instrument Design Basis, P&IDs, Instrument Index, Instrument Specification Sheets, I/O Lists and Control System Design.
  • Prepare/review cable schedules, MTOs, instrument hook-up drawings, panel wiring diagrams and cable/tray routing.
  • Develop/review control logic and participate in control system/software FAT activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, package vendors, clients, procurement and cross-functional disciplines for technical clarifications and document review.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables and activities are completed accurately and within the schedule.
  • Support bidding, estimation and tender finalization; provide technical support during procurement, site execution and commissioning.

Associate Technical Leader (Detail Engineering - E&I)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Understand project, electrical and instrumentation requirements, process data, design basis and project parameters.
  • Plan and execute basic and detailed E&I engineering activities in accordance with project schedules, specifications and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Apply applicable engineering practices, codes, standards, statutory and safety requirements.
  • Perform electrical engineering, equipment selection, load assessment and plant constructability studies as applicable.
  • Develop and review electrical control wiring diagrams, cable schedules, electrical layouts, earthing & lightning protection layouts, small power & lighting layouts and related engineering documents.
  • Evaluate drawings, technical reports, test data and other inputs to develop appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Review Instrument Design Basis, P&IDs, Instrument Index, Instrument Specification Sheets, I/O Lists, Instrument Database and Control System Design.
  • Select suitable instruments and review vendor/package vendor technical drawings, specifications and documents.
  • Prepare/review cable schedules, MTOs, instrument hook-up drawings, panel wiring diagrams and cable/tray routing.
  • Develop/review control logic and participate in control system/software FAT activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, package vendors, clients, procurement and cross-functional disciplines for technical clarifications and document review.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables and technical activities are completed accurately and within the agreed schedule.
  • Review vendor documents for compliance with project specifications, design basis and applicable standards.
  • Support Technical Query Request (TQR), Design Change Request (DCR), E-QAP and other technical/quality closeouts.
  • Support preparation of estimates using standard costing templates and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Support BDN/Proposal teams during bidding, estimation and tender finalization.
  • Provide technical support during material procurement, site execution, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with site contractors for installation and erection of instruments, accessories, cable trays and related E&I systems.
  • Participate in project technical discussions, customer meetings and resolve engineering issues independently.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Bachelors in Instrumentation Engineering / Electrical engineering or equivalent with 12 to 15 Years of experience
  • Extensive experience in Water & Wate water, Oil & Gas, Power Projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical & instrumentation principles, measurement techniques, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with various instruments and devices such as Sensors, Transmitters, Indicators, Analyses, Control Valves and on-off valves, junction boxes, control panels (PCC/MCC/VFD).
  • Safety and Compliance: Understanding of safety regulations, standards, and practices applicable to Electrical & Instrumentation systems, such as Hazardous Area Classification, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) and functional safety.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, IEEE, NEMA, IS).
  • Problem-solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues related to instrumentation & piping systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
