Job summary

DigiKey Global Capability Center is seeking a capable ETL/Data Engineer to support and enhance existing ETL processes, work with Data Engineers, QA and DBAs to meet SLAs, and perform root cause analysis on ETL failures. The role requires SQL proficiency, Snowflake/Azure experience, and willingness for on-call shifts.

Candidates should have an engineering degree, 1–3 years in ETL/ELT tooling, and strong communication skills to coordinate with teams in India and the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support for existing ETL processes and small code changes.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, QA, DBAs to meet SLA in production.

• Root cause analysis for ETL job failures and resolution.
• Escalate issues to next level when needed and communicate with teams.
• Participate in ETL Operations 24x7 on-call rotational shifts.
• Take ownership of activities during shifts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support for the existing ETL processes, procedures, as well as the ability to make small code changes as required.
• Develop an effective working relationship with Data Engineers, Quality Analyst, Database Administrators, and others in ensuring the data processing is meeting the defined SLA in production.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand job schedules and inter dependencies
• Strong work experience with SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Azure.
• Root Cause Analysis for ETL job failures and resolution.
• Any programming background with Python, java, or other programming languages.
• Should be able Participate in ETL Operations 24x7 support on-call rotational shifts
• Able to escalante the issues to next level of support team members in case not able to understand/ resolve it.
• Able to take ownership of the activities during shift
• Able to clearly communicate the support issues to Data Engineering teams in US or India

• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect) is a plus.
• Ability to handle high pressure situations and quickly respond and resolve production problems
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude

Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Engineering

Preferred Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field (16 years of formal education related to engineering) or relevant work experience.
• 1 to 3 years of experience with ETL/ELT tools – DBT, Informatica etc
