Job summary

Digi-Key Electronics is seeking an ETL Engineer to provide ongoing support for existing ETL processes and to implement small code changes as needed. The role requires collaboration with Data Engineers, QA, and DBAs to ensure data processing meets SLA in production.

The candidate should be proficient in SQL, Snowflake, and Azure, with experience in Python or Java. On-call rotational shifts and strong problem-solving skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Engineering.
• Bachelor of IT-related field is preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience with ETL/ELT tools – DBT, Informatica etc.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support for the existing ETL processes, procedures, as well as the ability to make small code changes as required.
• Develop an effective working relationship with Data Engineers, Quality Analyst, Database Administrators, and others in ensuring the data processing is meeting the defined SLA in production.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand job schedules and inter dependencies
• Strong work experience with SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Azure.
• Root Cause Analysis for ETL job failures and resolution.
• Any programming background with Python, java, or other programming languages.
• Should be able Participate in ETL Operations 24x7 support on-call rotational shifts
• Able to escalation the issues to next level of support team members in case not able to understand/ resolve it.
• Able to take ownership of the activities during shift
• Able to clearly communicate the support issues to Data Engineering teams in US or India

• Must Have: Good knowledge of relational database management systems and principles.
• Experience with Snowflake, Azure, Servicenow and MS office products.

Good to Have

• Experience with SQL, Snowflake, DBT.
• Experience working in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Must have the ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect) is a plus.
• Ability to handle high pressure situations and quickly respond and resolve production problems
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Engineering

Preferred Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in an IT related field (16 years of formal education related to engineering) or relevant work experience.
• 1 to 3 years of experience with ETL/ELT tools – DBT, Informatica etc
