Job summary

Varroc in Pune is seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure supplier products and processes meet quality standards. You will identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and strengthen the QMS across the supplier network.

Responsibilities include conducting audits (QMS, Process, CAPA, PPAP), performing root-cause analysis, coordinating with cross-functional teams for 8D/6W2H, and guiding suppliers to reduce PPM and defects.

Qualifications

• Experience in supplier quality management and working with QMS procedures.
• Proficiency in conducting audits (QMS, Process, CAPA, PPAP) and implementing CAPA.
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP and 8D/6W2H methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier audits (QMS, Process, CAPA, PPAP) and report findings.

Job description

1. JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring that products supplied and processes deployed by suppliers meet established quality standards by

identifying gaps, implementing timely corrective measures, and ensuring quality control systems throughout the production

facility of supplier.

Supplier wise Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer would report to respective SQA Head of particular region/cluster.

One Supplier Quality Engineer can be responsible for one or more categories of suppliers depending on processes and product complexity.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quality Control and Improvement

Deep dive supplier manufacturing processes to analyze the root cause of reported defects, determine corrective actions, and encourage suppliers to implement the same.

Conduct RCA of incoming material issues, analyze & implement timely CAPA for fixing gaps to ensure no repeated issues.

Ensure action plans from audits are implemented to close all non-conformities.

Ensure all laid out procedures and tests and QMS documentation are implemented at suppliers end.

Conduct rating process for suppliers on quality parameters & functional/fitment checking of parts to be dispatched.

Conduct various supplier audits (QMS, Process, CAPA, PPAP etc.) and report independently.

Analyze suppliers process to find improvements, analyze the root cause of any problem that occurred with CFT, and identify any non-value-added activities.

Quality Assurance

Communicate the importance of the implementation of QMS procedures to the suppliers

Ensure process fool proofing (Poke Yoke) - Detection & Occurrence Poke Yoke

Support the development and administration of the customer CAPA, internal non-conformance according to Varroc Quality Management System at suppliers end.

Monitor progress status against open issues of all audit engagements to ensure closure.

Develop suppliers processes and inspection capabilities to avoid defect generation and enhance detection at their end.

Quality Alignment with New Product Development:

Be Part of CFT to have concrete AOI development with CD team during development.

Participate in APQP for product quality planning and conclude PPAP with suppliers.

Monitor and analyze supplier quality performance to reduce incoming PPM and recurring defects, ensuring timely corrective actions.

Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and support suppliers in implementing CAPA using methodologies like 8D / 6W2H.

Perform regular supplier process audits, PPAP reviews, and inspection checks to ensure adherence to Varroc and customer quality standards.

Lead and support customer audits ay suppliers by preparing suppliers and conducting self-audits to close gaps before formal evaluations.

Drive process and inspection improvement projects, track progress, and ensure timely closure of initiatives.

Identify training needs, develop, and conduct sessions to enhance supplier process capability and quality awareness.

Oversee team activities, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and foster collaboration to achieve quality and operational goals.

Review and assess supplier performance regularly, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Support from CFT for Concrete Root Cause Analysis mainly for Internal issues as well as Customer issues

Adherence to Quality Management system consistently by suppliers during change management.
