Job summary

Electrodrive Powertrain Solutions is seeking a Supplier Quality / QA Engineer to lead reassessment PPAPs, supplier audits, and QA processes for EV components. You will monitor CTQ metrics, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing and quality systems.

You will also manage 4M changes, ECN/Design changes, and ensure proper testing/validation of supplier parts together with design and testing teams. Strong knowledge of QMS (ISO9000/IATF) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reassessment PPAP to be conducted as needed.
• Vendor assessment and process/product audits.
• Evaluate supplier quality management systems, manufacturing processes and capabilities.
• Check supplier compliance with EV industry standards and regulations.
• Perform process audits and NC closure monitoring with suppliers.
• Cover process audits up to T2 for special processes (raw material, heat treatment, powder coating, painting, rubber, plastic, soldering).
• Conduct product audits (layout and destructive/tear-down).
• Develop, implement and maintain QA processes for supplier parts and materials.
• Monitor CTQ parameters and in-house special processes at supplier end.
• Monitor and report supplier performance to meet/exceed quality expectations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify and rectify quality issues; implement corrective/preventive actions.
• For plant and warranty issues, initiate 8D and monitor effectiveness.
• Work with suppliers to improve manufacturing and quality processes; drive continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance to suppliers on EV-specific quality and safety requirements.
• Monitor 4M changes and ECN/design changes; re-PPAP as required; regular layout inspection and DVP reviews.
• Ensure proper testing and validation of supplier components/materials with design/testing teams.
• Analyze test results and assess impact on product quality and safety.
• Maintain records of supplier evaluations, audits and quality performance; generate reports for senior management.
• Stay up-to-date with EV industry standards and regulatory requirements; ensure supplier compliance.
• Work with suppliers to optimize cost of poor quality and participate in cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Cover Process Audits upto T2 for Special Process as Per CQI guidelines this will cover Raw Material, Heat Treatment, Powder coating, Painting, rubber, Plastic, Soldering

  • Monitor CTQ Parameters & any special process done at supplier end in house.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance, ensuring they meet or exceed quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify and rectify quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • For Plant & warranty issues seek 8D & monitor the effectiveness
• Supplier Development:
  • Work closely with suppliers to improve their manufacturing and quality processes, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to suppliers in meeting our EV-specific quality and safety requirements.
• Change Management:
  • Monitor and Implementation of 4M Changes and ECN/Design Changes, Re PPAP as Required, Regular Layout Inspection and Periodic DVP review , Special Process control and, Eye on Outsourced processes by Tier1 Supplier.
• Product Testing and Validation:
  • Collaborate with the design and testing teams to ensure proper testing and validation of supplier components and materials.
  • Analyze test results and assess their impact on product quality and safety.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier evaluations, audits, and quality performance.
  • Generate reports on supplier quality metrics and trends, presenting findings to senior management.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant EV industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with industry-specific requirements.
• Monitor Cost of Poor Quality Mgt and Control :
  • Work with suppliers to optimize Failure Costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Participate in cost-reduction/VAVE, initiatives while maintaining or improving quality.
• QMS:
  • Sound Knowledge of QMS / ISO9000 /IATF
  • Internal auditor is added advantage
