Job summary

S&A Law Offices in Ahmedabad seeks an experienced lawyer to handle Civil, Criminal and Company litigation and arbitration matters. You will participate in hearings, drafting, and research from pleadings to enforcement, including drafting of notices and legal opinions.

The role involves managing complex cases before Civil Courts, High Courts and arbitral tribunals, with emphasis on drafting, filing and strategy development.

Qualifications

• Experience in Civil/Criminal/Company litigation and arbitration matters.
• Experience before Civil Courts, High Courts, NCLT/NCLAT and arbitral tribunals including drafting and hearings.
• Drafting of plaints, written statements, petitions, affidavits, and other pleadings and applications.
• Research work including case-law research and preparation of case notes and legal opinions.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation from research, pleadings to hearings before courts/arbitral tribunals.
• Draft, file and argue pleadings and related applications.
• Manage arbitration proceedings from initiation to enforcement and post-award steps.

Job description

• Candidate should have experience in handling Civil/ Criminal/Company Litigation and Arbitration matters.
• Having first-hand experience in handling (either solo or as a part of Team) litigation before Civil Courts, Commercial Courts, DRT, DRAT, NCLT, NCLAT, Magistrate/Sessions Court and High Courts (including writ and supervisory jurisdiction), from the stage of research, drafting and filing of pleadings, applications, and conducting hearings;
• Experience in handling arbitration matters from initiation to enforcement, including issuance of demand notice, notice invoking arbitration, drafting of statement of claim, statement of defence, counter claim, applications before Tribunal and Courts, and post-award challenge and enforcement proceedings;
• Drafting of plaints, written statements, petitions, replies, rejoinders, affidavits, written submissions, legal notices, settlement agreements, and other related pleadings and applications;
• Experience in execution and enforcement proceedings including execution of decrees, arbitral awards, and recovery proceedings before appropriate forums;
• Undertaken research work including case-laws research, technical research, and preparation of case notes, Legal opinions & strategy briefs.
