Job summary

DBS is seeking a backend software engineer in Hyderabad to design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x. You will work with databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, implement event-driven patterns, and ensure secure, test-driven delivery.

You will collaborate with product and platform teams, implement CI/CD with Docker/Kubernetes, and contribute to observability and production support in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related with strong algorithms and data structures.
• 4–6 years of backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot.
• Deep knowledge of JVM internals, GC, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Framework 6.x, Spring Cloud, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and WebFlux.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and CQRS/Event Sourcing patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java microservices (Java 17+) and Spring Boot 3.3.x with Spring Cloud 2023.x.
• Build data services using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis with migrations via Liquibase or Flyway.
• Create RESTful APIs and document with OpenAPI/Swagger; integrate with API Gateways and frontend.

In Group Technology, we manage most the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.**Roles & Responsibilities:*** Microservices Development: Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java 17+ (with Java 21 LTS) and Spring Boot 3.3.x including Spring Cloud 2023.x for microservices patterns. End-to-end integration experience of microservices with frontend systems using RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture* Database Management: Develop and maintain databases using MySQL 8.x, PostgreSQL 15+, and Redis 7.x for caching and session management, optimizing for performance, reliability, and implementing database migrations using Liquibase or Flyway* API Development: Create and document RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications for seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party services. Experience with API Gateway (Spring Cloud Gateway or Kong) , GraphQL is a plus* Feature Release: Collaborate with product teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and implement new features following Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles, ensuring timely and successful releases* Bug Fixing: Troubleshoot and resolve bugs in a timely manner using Test Driven Development (TDD) approach, maintaining high standards of code quality and performance through comprehensive unit and integration testing* Application Updates: Regularly update applications implementing new features, addressing bugs, enhancing system performance, and following secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10 compliance) with production-quality code* Upgrade Management: Manage upgrades of Spring Boot, backend databases, and cloud platform dependencies ensuring compatibility, improved performance, and maintaining zero-trust security architecture* Production Support: Work with operations team to monitor and troubleshoot production issues using observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack/Splunk, Jaeger/Zipkin), participate in on-call rotations and conduct post-mortem analysis* Deployment Automation: Deploy microservices using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), containerize applications with Docker, and orchestrate with Kubernetes (deployments, services, ingress, ConfigMaps)* Performance Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools (Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to analyze system performance, implement distributed tracing, and conduct performance testing using JMeter or Gatling based on metrics and feedback**Requirements:*** Degree in Computing / Computer Science / Engineering preferred BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related subject with strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and system design* Should be able to apply Agentic AI approaches towards SDLC phases with AI first mindset* 4-6 years of experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot* Proficient in Java 17+ features (records, sealed classes, pattern matching, virtual threads) with deep understanding of JVM internals, garbage collection, and performance tuning* Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Framework 6.x, Spring Cloud, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring WebFlux (reactive programming)* Proficient in developing RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture patterns (API Gateway, Service Discovery, Circuit Breaker, CQRS, Event Sourcing)* Experience with messaging and event streaming platforms (Apache Kafka 3.x, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS) and event-driven architecture patterns* Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, CloudFormation)* Experience with MySQL 8.x, PostgreSQL 15+, or similar relational databases.
