Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an experienced AI automation engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that address complex business challenges. You will help deliver end‑to‑end automation projects using Power Automate Desktop, RPA concepts, and Python-based tooling, collaborating with stakeholders across teams to translate requirements into scalable implementations.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (e.g., 2+ years of software development or automation engineering experience)
• 2+ years of experience with Power Automate and AI/ML technologies
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and intelligent automation concepts
• Proficiency with Python for automation development, scripting, or data manipulation

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered automation solutions to address complex business challenges
• Participate in end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled automations, including ideation, design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring

• Develop and optimize AI agents, Digital Workers, and RAG-based applications
• Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows and drive operational improvement
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into AI-enabled technical solutions
• Support solution deployment, observability, performance monitoring, and production incident management
• Evaluate emerging technology trends to inform solution design and innovation
• Adhere to company policies and directives related to employment and work arrangements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI
• Participate in the end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled automations, including ideation, design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
• Design and implement scalable Power Automate Desktop (PAD) and intelligent automation solutions to solve complex business problems
• Develop and optimize AI agents, Digital Workers, RAG-based applications, and automated workflows
• Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous operational improvement
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, product owners, and operations teams to translate business requirements into AI-enabled technical solutions
• Support solution deployment, observability, performance monitoring, model tuning, and production incident management
• Evaluate emerging technology trends to inform solution design and strategic innovation
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (e.g., 2+ years of software development or automation engineering experience in lieu of a degree)
• 2+ years of experience working with Power Automate and AI/ML technologies
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and intelligent automation concepts
• Demonstrated proficiency with Python for automation development, scripting, or data manipulation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience developing AI agents, Digital Workers, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based applications
• Experience with Power Automate Desktop (PAD) flow design, API integrations, and process optimization
• Knowledge of model tuning, performance monitoring, observability, and incident management in production environment
• Proven solid analytical, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills across multi-functional technical teams
