Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of software development experience with Java and Spring framework (Spring Boot preferred).
• Hands-on experience with web app frameworks, microservices and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL technologies (Postgres, MySQL or similar).
• Experience with Git version control.
• Knowledge of NoSQL technologies.
• Experience with container platforms like Docker, PCF, TAS.
• Exposure to CI tools like Jenkins/Bamboo.
• Must have frontend experience with Angular/React/TypeScript.
• Experience decomposing wireframes into reusable UI components.

Responsibilities

• Estimate user stories and tasks in hours and commit during Sprint Planning.
• Contribute to backlog refinement and ensure requirements meet DOR.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to align code and tests with functionality.
• Raise impediments and coordinate with Scrum Master/Architect/PO to resolve.

About Position / Position Summary

Boeing India is currently looking for an Associate Java developer to join their team..

This role will be based out of Chennai, India.

Position Responsibilities:

• Estimate user stories/features (story point estimation) and tasks in hours with the required level of accuracy and commit them as part of Sprint Planning.
• Contributes to the Backlog refinement meetings by promptly asking relevant questions to ensure requirements achieve the right level of DOR.
• Works with the Product Owner to confirm that the code and acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality.
• Raise any impediments/risks (technical/operational/personal) they come across and approaches Scrum Master/Technical Architect/PO accordingly to arrive at a solution.
• Update the status and the remaining efforts for their tasks daily
• Ensures change requests are treated correctly and tracked in the system, impact analysis done and risks/timelines are appropriately communicated.
• Develops working software towards committed Team PI Objectives and Iteration plans.
• Delivers working software in accordance with expected quality standards.
• Designs for test-ability: Design and evolve the system to support test-ability and test automation.
• Works on prototyping and evaluating technical feasibility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• Demonstrated ability to create positive impact on customers by developing polished, cohesive, effective, and user-friendly applications for large and complex aviation related systems.
• 4+ years of related work experience in software development using Java and spring framework preferably Spring boot.
• Hands on experience in Web application framework, micro service-oriented architecture and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL technology, such as Postgres, MySQL or similar.
• Experience working with version control tools such as GIT.
• Knowledge of NoSQL technologies.
• Experience with container platforms such as Docker, PCF, TAS etc.
• Exposure to continuous integration practices and tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo.
• Must have experience with at least front-end framework such as Angular, React, Type Script etc.,
• Experience with UI components and ability to decompose a wire-frame into sub-elements; components re-usability and UI multi-theming.
• Experience using Software Design Patterns, Standards and Best Practices within the industry.
• Hands-on experience with Build and Deployment tools and languages around CI / CD.
• Ability to rapidly learn and understand software from source code
• Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations
• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside, across different cultures and time-zones
• Knowledge of integrating with Maven, GIT and Shell scripting
• Experience in understanding and interacting with multiple data formats
• Extensive experience in collaborating within an Agile team setting, working as a group to drive Epic/Feature/User Story creation as well as solution design and architecture
• Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to earn trust, persuade, motivate and mentor other team members.
• Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Knowledge of basic Python using Django framework is an advantage.

Typical Education & Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 4 Plus years' related work experience or master’s degree with 3+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
