Job Description

Thisis a combined origination and credit role, responsible for identifying andoriginating lending opportunities, building client and channel relationships,and preparing the credit memo through to Credit Committee presentation. TheManager owns each deal end-to-end from sourcing through to a committee-readycredit memo; final sanction, disbursement and post-disbursement monitoringremain independently owned by the Credit Committee/Head – NBFC, preserving aclean separation between deal sourcing and final credit approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing: Identify and originate lending opportunities acrosscorporate, SME and structured finance segments through market outreach,referrals and internal networks.
• Market Mapping: Map target industries, geographies and client segmentsto build a robust, qualified origination pipeline aligned with the NBFC'scredit appetite.
• 2. Relationship Management
  • Client Relationships: Build and nurture relationships with promoters, CFOs andcorporate treasury teams to generate repeat and referral business.
  • Channel Partnerships: Develop relationships with DSAs, intermediaries,consultants and other channel partners to expand origination reach.
• 3. Pitching & PreliminaryStructuring
  • Client Pitching: Present the NBFC's lending capabilities and productofferings to prospective clients, tailoring pitches to their financing needs.
  • Preliminary Terms: Assess company and dealinformation, including funding history, investor backing, and runway, with asound understanding of startup financials such as burn rate, MRR/ARR, uniteconomics, and cap tables to evaluate business potential and funding requirements.
• 4. Credit Appraisal &Underwriting
  • Financial & Risk Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial and credit analysis ofborrowers — cash flows, leverage, working capital cycle, collateral andpromoter strength — as part of the underwriting process.
  • Structuring & RiskMitigation: Assess industry and businessrisk, and recommend appropriate deal structure, security, covenants andrisk-based pricing basis the borrower's risk profile.
• 5. Credit Memo Preparation &Committee Presentation
  • Credit Memo Drafting: Prepare comprehensive, accurate credit memos coveringbusiness overview, financial analysis, industry risk, structure, collateral andrisk mitigants, supported by robust financial models.
  • Committee Presentation: Present credit memos to the Credit Committee/SanctioningAuthority, respond to queries and incorporate conditions precedent (CPs) asdirected, prior to handoff for final sanction.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline of prospects,tracking progress from lead through to credit memo submission.
  • MIS & Reporting: Provide regular origination and credit-memo pipelineupdates to the Head – NBFC.
  • Competitive Awareness: Track competitor offerings, market pricing and industrytrends to refine origination strategy, deal structuring and positioning.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), CFA, or equivalentprofessional qualification in finance.
• Experience: 3 - 5 years of combined business development and creditexperience within an NBFC, bank or financial services firm, having handled bothorigination and credit appraisal.
• Network: Existing relationships with corporates, promoters orintermediaries within target sectors are highly valued.
• Technical Skills: Strong financial modelling, credit analysis andnegotiation skills, with a working knowledge of RBI regulations and creditpolicy frameworks.
• Attributes: Entrepreneurial and self-driven, comfortable owning adeal end-to-end from sourcing through to credit memo, with high accountabilityand comfort operating under tight turnaround times.
