Role Overview
The Associate Program Manager (APM) will support the Director of Program & Product Strategy in planning, tracking, and executing cross‑functional hardware and software programs from concept through production and field deployment. This is an execution‑focused, detail‑oriented role. The APM will keep programs on track, ensure commitments are met, surface risks early, and maintain clear documentation across engineering, supply chain, vendors, and field teams. The role requires ownership, an understanding of technical dependencies, and the ability to drive closure across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Execution
- Break down high‑level program objectives into clear milestones, deliverables, and task plans
- Build and maintain master program plans and dashboards (Wrike or similar tools)
- Track schedule, scope, dependencies, and readiness across multiple cross‑functional programs
- Ensure alignment on ownership, timelines, and deliverables
- Identify, track, and drive issues to resolution—not just escalation
- Proactively surface risks and blockers with context, impact assessment, and recommended options
- Maintain clear visibility into inter‑team and vendor dependencies
- Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Software, QA, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Field Operations teams
- Coordinate with external vendors on build schedules, deliverables, and documentation
- Track vendor commitments versus actuals, including build readiness and shipment status
- Ensure all vendor inputs and documentation are complete, accurate, and usable
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain up‑to‑date program documentation including plans, milestone trackers, change logs, and decision records
- Prepare concise and structured status updates, dashboards, and reviews for leadership
- Ensure clear communication across teams to avoid gaps or surprises during execution
Required Skills & Experience
Must‑Have
3‑6 years of experience in program or project management within:
- Robotics
- Automotive
- Hardware‑software products
- Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles
- Experience managing multiple programs in parallel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High ownership mindset with strong follow‑through
- Working knowledge of project management tools such as Wrike, JIRA, or similar
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Good‑to‑Have
- Engineering background or strong technical intuition
- Exposure to manufacturing or assembly environments
- Experience working with external vendors and suppliers
- Familiarity with field testing, pilot deployments, or early customer rollouts
