Job summary

Adani Power Limited, part of the Adani Group, seeks a Lead Safety professional to implement safety training programs, support audits and inspections, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement to safeguard personnel and operations at the plant.

You will manage IMS/AWMS alignment, run safety campaigns, prepare reports, ensure PPE availability, and coordinate with internal departments and external auditors to uphold the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/BE/BSc in Fire Safety or Chemical Eng and Advanced Diploma required.
  • 10+ years of experience in fire safety management and operations in power/heavy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety training and campaigns and conduct agency inductions.

  • Maintain daily safety observations and prepare monthly safety reports.

Job Purpose:

This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the plant. This role is responsible for implementing safety training programs, supporting in regular audits and inspections, and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations. The role will proactively manage safety initiatives, support incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance to safeguard personnel and operations.

Educational Qualification:

B.Tech/BE/BSc. (preferably in Fire Safety or Chemical Engineering) or related field and mandatory Advanced Diploma.

Work Experience (Range of years):

10+ years of experience in fire safety management and operations within the power or heavy industry sector.

Lead Safety
Safety Training and Campaigns:
  • Conduct Safety induction Training and vertigo test for new staff and workers of agencies.
  • Support in safety campaigns and participate in mock drills to prepare staff for emergency situations.
  • Conduct various EHS Training programs and track training data.
  • Provide support and required information for investigation of near-miss incidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct awareness sessions for agency workmen to reinforce safety standards.
  • Track and ensure monthly safety virus campaigns to highlight and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Provide support for audits and inspections- daily, weekly, monthly to maintain high safety standards and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct weekly "Halla Boll" at assigned area, prepare report, enter observations in GENSUITE and monitor the compliance.
  • Conduct Action Employee Can Take (AECT) in all PICs.
Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Upload daily safety observations for the whole plant in GENSUITE.
  • Conduct weekly initiatives at assigned areas, prepare reports, and monitor compliance.
  • Prepare data for different National Awards for Safety to recognize and promote safety achievements.
  • Ensure the display of safety signages to maintain awareness and compliance.
  • Manage the availability and usage of PPEs by staff and workers of agencies at the site as per service order.
  • Review contractual documents of the agencies to find out safety requirements mentioned therein related to defined area.
  • Monitor and ensure the right type of PPE s are being used during Jobs.
  • Provide input for preparation of Monthly MIS report HO submission.
  • Release of special Permits like Height, Confined, Hot, Opening in Floors, Radiography,and Excavation.
Business Sustainability:
  • Release and audit safety work permits at assigned areas to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines within the department.
  • Ensure the safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare activities and reports for AOH/COH and monitor compliance of safety requirements.
  • Implement RVDTS and represent its committee.
  • Manage Legatrix compliance for safety regulations.
  • Apply for different National Awards for Safety i.e. NSC Safety award.
Digitization and Automation:
  • Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency, as directed by Section Head.
  • Innovate and implement automation solutions to support overall organizational goals/strategy.
  • Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas.
